I shouldn't have worded it as "even Gentiles could be forgiven and enter Heaven". Gentiles were considered the people of the "world" and God's People weren't "supposed" to associate with them. Christ came and changed all that, and even talked to and brought the word to the Gentiles as well as God's People. I may not be explaining this well at all.

Judaism....Christianity...not too far from each other really ;) There are other Jewish folks who frequent this thread as well. No worries, you're in good company :) I don't believe the New Testamnet says we do not have to follow the laws. We do have to follow them, but Christ took the place of some of them.

Now I have a question for you if you don't mind..Why do Jews no longer do animal sacrifice?
That was something reserved for the temple (not to be confused with the Reform jewish word for synagogue). In the days of the temple, Animal Sacrifice was practiced. After it was destroyed (twice), animal sacrifice could not be done. The idea is that the Messiah will come, meet all the Messianic Requirements, and will bring about a new age, which will include the rerebuilding of the temple. When that happens (Supposedly before year 6000), Animal Sacrifice will be practiced once more, I imagine.

I'm not 100 percent positive on this stuff, but I do volunteer for my rabbi a lot, so I'm sure this knowledge leaps in some how....

But the Bible tells us that the temple, once destroyed, will never be rebuilt.

And animal sacrifice was another thing that was done away with by the death of Christ. He was the Sacrificial Lamb, all come to the Father through the Son, who died for us, so why would they need to go back to animal sacrifice? The lamb was already crucified/sacrificed.

Okay. What are the Messianic Requirements? I have to say this is a bit confusing to me. When the Messiah comes, is it not for forgiveness of sins, and reconcilliation with God? If so, why would there be animal sacrifices then?

Also, where did you get the number 6000? Just curious.

I really need to get my hands on the Torah

I don't believe I'm going to hell period, but I still haven't eaten bacon, so that takes care of that. Some people still wonder how it is I have never had bacon, but you can't miss what you've never had.

So Christians believe Jesus was the Messiah
Yes...but you already knew that, didn't you? :) The confusion towards Christianity from a Jewish standpoint always comes back to this. We believe He is the promised Messiah and Jews believe He isn't, so never the twain shall meet as His teachings and His crucifixion means nothing to Jews if they believe He was merely a man.
