Here it is! Obviously needs some cosmetic work, but it's my very own dirt.

Okay, here we go! Washing my first batch of laundry in homemade laundry soap. Isn't that a cute jar? I got it for my birthday months ago just because I liked it. A friend of mine makes vinyl words and this one was about 50 cents. Makes me a little happier to do laundry.

My very own artichoke! I actually took this pic a few weeks ago, and right now it's steaming in my kitchen. :D It did get bigger.

I want artichokes! I am trying to start some, but probably WAY too late in the year. My first batch damped off and died.

Have you grown them before? Tell me more! :)

This is my first one. I planted it as a 4 inch start in January. It is huge: about 3 1/2 feet tall and just as wide.

We ate 2 last night with a mayo-balsamic vinegar dip. So good.

More canning jars! Yay! A neighbor was helping clean out her gma's house and brought over several boxes and bags of jars! Some are not real canning jars, I'll have to go through them all, but it's quite a few good ones.

Our peaches are very nearly ripe. If I can keep the birds and squirrels off of them, we will get a ton.

Finally home! We spent a month at my parent's hobby farm. I learned how to milk goats, made chevre with Blackbird's recipe (thank you!), helped dh butcher 3 muscovy ducks, and did some canning and dehydrating. Such a fun time. My garden went crazy while I was gone and I came home to more canning waiting for me. It's been a great summer.

Looking forward to catching up here. How is everyone doing?
