Thanks OFG.

Its early here. I woke with a start. I was in the depths of the strangest Sci Fi nightmare ever. Wasn't bad until the very end while evaluating the space station I was separated from my kids.
:hu

No more chocolate chips before bed.

Last night I went to bed exhausted. I started shovling the 4th garden row last night after dinner. :barnie My hands, arms and shoulders are killing me. But I am so excited to plant a huge summer fall garden.

Went to put freedom Rangers away last night those kids are meaty. They just feel thick. My Dd 8 yo helped. She actually said " I can't wait to knaw on one of their legs."

I love my kids.

Well, dh should be getting up for work soon. I guess I should make his lunch.

Be back later.

 I love how quickly kids get on board!! My DS tells me he wants us to put the mean rooster on the BBQ. :D You got a LOT done in one day! Even though you're sore!

From what I remember about the gopher chasers, I think it said it covers a 10x10 area, but so far I haven't had any problems in my 12x 24 garden, and I know that surrounding the garden has been clear too (knock on wood!) Last year they were so bad the tunneled through the bottom of my wine barrels and ate so much of my garden!! Thoses rascals seemed to wait until something was just about ready to pick and grab it in the night when I was planning to pick it in the morning. GGGRRR...

I've also heard you can put cut pieces of hose and lay them about your garden to fool them into thinking they are snakes, you just have to keep moving them around so they don't get used to them in one spot. I planned on doing this with some toy snakes I got my kids at the dollar tree, but then I remembered I had that gopher chaser and decided to give it a try!

Interesting dream... I wouldn't worry unless you were wearing a red shirt...

Wait, why shouldn't I be wearing a red shirt??? :barnie That was suppose to say Evacuating the space station. I really shouldn't type on my phone.

I did put the wire down under the rows of my garden. I do think when I have some extra cash I might order of of those sonic gopher things on line. I looked them up and found several kinds. Geesh wouldn't that just be amazing if it worked? I have been fighting the gophers for so loooong....

School is almost here. :ya 13 days!! Whoot!!!!

Not getting much done in the garden today. I am dropping my girls at Grandmas and then taking ds to the doc for a check up. When I get back I will try to dig the 5th row.

Wow 13 days util school AND an awesome new tiller.....i'm so jealous!! We still have a month before school starts here and then I will only have one in school....and he's helpful (sometimes). I've been wondering what kind of tiller to get. My dad has an old one but he says it's too much for me to handle. I haven't tried it yet but maybe I should before spending the money on a new one. Does the one you have handle good? It looks like you tilled up a good size area! What are you going to plant? Did i miss that part in your journal? :hide

I say try the old tiller. They are so expensive, I would at least give it a go. The one I used was not that bad. It's heavy but has auto drive. Guess that's what you would call it. The trick was lifting the tines and turning at the end of the row. My husband says let the tiller do the work. If that makes sense.

If I only had a plow. :D

Yesterday I put in some new pole beans and some more squash. I wanted to get it going ASAP since I direct seeded. I might drag my feet on the other rows. Most the things I want to plant go in a bit later in the season.

It's all a big expierament. I hope it works. This will more than double my garden space.

If you want to "make a snake" use electrical tape. Wind it up on itself until you get it snake like and of desired length and then tape the front of it to something where it will catch and move in the wind, makes it look real. My mom puts them in her fruit trees to keep the birds out of them. Works like a charm!

Heck where have I been.

Well I worked really hard on the garden end of last week. Fri night dh for a call from an old friend. He was to be in town Sat. And wanted to come by for a visit. I went into panic mode and spent Fri evening and Sat picking up the house. I had sewing everywhere. :barnie My kids had left Fri night to go to their Aunties ranch. So no help there.

I ended up with some thing close to a panic attack. Followed by two days of chest pain. I almost drove myself to the er on Sun. But didnt.

The kicker. Dh friend never showed. :th

I feel better as of last night so onward and upward. :hu

Taking ds to his Jr high registration this morning. that should be fun.

Be back later. Typing on my phone again. new router is acting up.
