Put a 1/4 to 1/2 cup of dawn dish soap per gallon of water in a pump up sprayer. Soak the plants completely. Wait 5 min. All ants aphids, squash-bugs, or other bugs with an exoskeleton will be dead. Hose off plants completely with clean water. I have been using this organic gardening trick for 17 years. It always works.moolie said:Great shots
If you have ants on your corn, they are likely eating aphids--if you can get rid of the aphids, the ants will leave too. Ants don't bother corn but aphids will damage the plants.
Sorry I'm no help on getting rid of aphids though, I don't use any sprays or whatever. The only time I ever had aphids they stripped down a big dill plant literally as I watched and once I was sure they weren't on anything else I cut the plant and bagged it up for the garbage--never had any more problems.
The shots of your place are amazing! I would love to live on a hill like that. How old is your house?
