Hey Gina, good luck with the car and the refi...you have a full plate huh?

Glad to hear that your hubby is getting a promotion, hopefully a nice little pay bump will come with it!

Coyotes....blech. Hate those things.

So when are you starting some cool season veggies? I am so excited to have some decent soil to plant in again!!

Thanks Dace.

Not to sure on the veggies. I normally give up on the garden mid Aug into Sept. It gets so darn hot. This year I am having a b day bbq for two of my kids. It will be the last week of Aug. So I need to do my best at keeping things alive and looking good. Besides with the weather this year who knows if it will even be hot. :idunno

My goal is to plant another round of cooler season stuff mid Sept. Like the broccoli, cauli, Brussels, more lettuces etc. My tomatoes are so darn late this year I will probably be harvesting those in Sept as well. If they live that long.

I think our weather is so mild in fall we should be able to grow lots of stuff. Just not sure what. I know Sunset magazine has a page in every issue that says what you should be doing in the garden that month. I will have to check that for advice.

Will your new place have a yard for a garden? I hope so even if it's just containers. There are lots of things you can plant. I actually have some really neat squash in containers right now. Gives me ideas for next year. :D

Well back to my list of chores. :th

I usually have a better FALL garden than my early spring one. Around here it gets hot so fast my cool season things like radishes and peas often burn up or bolt. Fall works nicer.

Yeah it was me. :D No biggy. If you want to add me back that's ok too. I was friends with a lot of SS folks because of Farmville. But then I deleted myself from the game. I was just playing way to much. :idunno

Saturday 24th.

I helped my SIL get ready for a super duper yard sale yesterday. To make a really long story short She got divorced 2 years ago. Hates her house because it was HIS choice. She is moving on. Bought some property in the foothills and is opening a horse boarding facility with a friend. They are both avid horse people.

So she sold everything. I mean everything, housewares, crystal, china, clothes, tools, furniture ..... You get my drift.

So me being the bossy go getter I am was in charge of the haggling and money. Today's grand total, and most of the sale was over 1000.00. Can you believe it? I think I must have talked to over 200 people today. A lot more than my norm.

I took about 10 dozen eggs when I went over at 5:30 this morning. sold them all. I donated the money to her fund. But only because yesterday I loaded up a whole truckload of stuff for myself. :D That and I wrote my name and phone number on the cartons. Free Range in big letters. I told everyone if they would like more just give me a call. I am pretty sure I got some new customers in the deal.

Now I am eating a PB & J and ready for a nap. My feet are killing me. Flip flops on concrete. Ouch!!!!

I did not hve a chance to gather my eggs last night so today I pulled 40 from the coop. :ep
'
Still need to get my laundry off the line and water the garden. I have not picked anything in two days. I am sure theres a ton.

I need a nap.:th

Great job on the garage sale! sounds like a lot of work, I hope you end up with some new egg customers.

I have a nice little card, put out by Walter Anderson nursery and it lists what to grow here year round. I will have to plan a few fall plantings. I have done really well with Swiss chard and salad greens in the spring, I guess they would do well in the fall too.
I am just excited to have a little bit of decent soil to play in!

I hope you are recovered from your long day..... happy Sunday :)

Thanks Dace,

Yes I have recovered. I slept until almost 7am. It's been months since I have been in bed after 4 am. I feel much better today.

I have been in the garden, to the store and gotten most of my house chores done. I have a few extra things I would like to accomplish today. Not sure if I will get there. :idunno

I have a broody hen and I am thinking about running to the feed store for chicks. To replace the 5 I lost last week. I have never snuck live chicks in before. I think I will need to set her in a crate on the ground of he house first. That way the babies can get in and out. Like I said not sure though.

I need to address birthday party invites and I am thinking about making a jalapeno jam this afternoon. I don't know why I planted 9 plants but I am over run with jalapenos.

Well I'm off and running, Have a great day.
