Her mom did not know how to open the garage door without electricity. th All I could think was thank goodness I am not that woman!!!
this would be the funniest thing i've ever heard... but i did stand outside my car one time b/c the remote door unlocker-thingy wouldnt work! all i could think of was "NOW how am i gonna get in"

hint: with the KEY

ohh.... so i opened the door the old fashioned way and was very proud of myself for roughing it.

You think that's bad. We were in the desert once and while unloading their truck some friends managed to lock the keys in it. We called AAA and they promptly came and used a slim jim thingy on the passenger side door. While all us adults stood around supervising.

It was not until several weeks later her 7 yo asked why she just didn't use the number pad on the drivers side. :th

Opps!!

a few times, when i still had my big life, i'd get home so late and be so tired that i would stand at my door with my car remote trying to open the house door with the car unlock button!

sheesh!

I locked my keys in the trunk once....at Walmart. Good lord, no one would let me use a phone, my purse was sitting on the front seat with my cell phone in it and the doors locked, I had been putting my DH's xmas present in the trunk and laid my keys down and thump, closed it before I could even think about it. He had to come and drive by me with the other set of keys and hit the remote for the trunk lock cause I wouldn't let him get out of the truck for fear he would see his xmas present.

Now, I keep a spare screwed on under the license plate so if I ever lock myself out all I have to do is find a coin and unscrew the plate to get the key off.

One time I locked the keys in my old hoopty of a vehicle. The trunk latch was broken and the trunk was only wired shut, so I opened the trunk, pushed the seat back off and climbed in through the back seat!

Another time my sister locked her keys in the car and I was able to break in using a fishing line and small weight. I dropped it in the window crack that I made by scooching down the window a bit, then I swung it around and captured the window roller handle. I few pulls that way and this and I had the window down enough to reach a hand in and unlock the door. :bow

Yes, yes ... pure ghetto talent. :gig

You guys are to funny. I guess I could fess up and say I did a doozy once. When I first started driving I has stopped at a convenience store and jumped out to run in. I left the car running and locked myself out. :he

I had to jog, 3 blocks to boyfriends house, that was a feat in itself. Drive his stick shift pick up, another challenge, home for the spare key. I did leave the boy friend at the store with the car. :D Geesh that man had patience!!

I think magnetic hide-a-keys are the greatest thing ever. Mostly now I just leave my care unlocked, usually open, and sometimes the keys in the ignition. At home that is. :idunno

I got a speeding ticket once and had to take the driver course as punishment....anyway, the instructor asked if anyone knew how to jump start their cars and I raised my hand. I guess he was feeling particularly cruel that day and called on me to explain how one goes about jumping their battery.

So I say "first you take out the back seat....." He stopped me right there and says "wait a minute, what kind of car do you have?"

A 1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle.... He says "sit down, you don't count"

hubby locked his keys in the trunk of that car once and he just pushed out the glove compartment and reached right through to get them!!! :gig

I can't leave the keys in or it would be gone, but we have learned to leave the car unlocked and open. They just break the windows if you lock it. :idunno :somad

Lori that's funny!!

FF ---That sucks!! We live in a relatively safe area. I think. I live up on a hill and foot traffic is zero. I have left my car out front with the keys in it open for years. It's still there. Unfortunately.

When we went to Yellowstone last year we forgot to close our garage door. We were gone for what, almost 14 days. My friend and neighbors came and went watering the garden and yard but no one noticed. The door faces the other direction. Thank goodness nothing was stolen. Just a few mice!!

September 8, 20010

Tomorrow is my dd's 5th birthday. She is a bit under the weather with a cough and snot but still requested banana pancakes, not burnt, for breakfast. What I only browned them slightly last time. :D

The weather here really feels like fall is coming. Today we had "fog feet" or drizzle as some may say. I was scrambling looking for beanies(sp) and sweaters. Looks like its time to clean out the front closet and get it stocked with stuff that fits. Knowing the weather here it will hit 90 again and we will all get sick.

I need to get in the garden and start gathering my Cushaw squash and butternut. I still have not figured out where I will be storing them.

Still working on my refinance. We hit a snag. I conveniently forgot to tell them about some other debt we have. :hide They found it and are now suggesting we roll that in to the mortgage as well. We have the equity and if it is the only way to secure the loan we are going to do it. I guess we have the debt no matter what so piling it all into one loan really makes sense. It just seems so HUGE now.

Well I need to get my mini van smogged. It failed a month or so ago. That's how I found out the tranny is going south. Anyways Honda wanted $250.00 to fix a little part a mouse chewed. My dh bought and replaced the $3.00 part on Sat. Now I just need to retest.

I plan to stick close to home for the next week or so. I find it's the easiest way not to spend money.

Anyways sorry for the ramble.
