Happy Anniversary early!!!!As for the Sapote....wow! I have never heard of those. They sorta sound like a Paw paw.
Now....those nuts...LUCKY YOU!!!! Macadamia's are my FAVORITE!!! I don't get them often here tho, too expensive. I hope you figure out how and when to harvest.

Happy Anniversary :ya

So, you mentioned in an earlier post about your hubby's uncle getting out of dodge.....so what's the scoop? Is he unhappy with the company? or just ready for a change?

I bet this has spurred on a lot of conversation between you and the hubs!

Good morning, thank you all for the Anniversary and Birthday wishes!! :p

Justusnak, if you want try your hand at the Macadamia nuts let me know. I will happily send you some. The ones I picked over the weekend have split. The nut inside still looks a bit white. Which leads me to believe they are not quite done. But when they are I will be picking plenty.

Well Dace, the work front is very interesting right now. I asked dh what his uncle had said and he basically said he was complaining. Which is exactly what we do and were not moving any time soon.

Actually I think my husband may be getting ANOTHER promotion. He has worked for this company for 6 months and in that time he has gone from the bottom to the top. It's crazy. We both agreed that he should take it and all the new responsibility it comes with. And the raise of course. :D Then we will focus on paying off debt and re evaluate in June of next year. June was our cut off date, when we were going to decide if we are moving or not. Ds would be transitioning from elementary to middle school. That would be a good time if we need to move. The only thing is this company is nation wide. That means flying to other states for meetings and such. DH isn't really excited about that.

Who knows if we manage to pay off our debt and things go well we may just move anyways.

In the mean time I am just going to keep doing what I do. House , kids, chores etc.. I find with no tv and limiting my computer time I am getting tons done.

I worked in the garden yesterday. I am going back out today to re plant some fall stuff. Starting on some gift crafts. It sure feels like fall.

Have a great day.

Well it all sounds good!

It also sounds like your hubby is finally being appreciated in the workplace...that must make him feel great :)

I need to start some holiday gift/crafts....but with cheer 3 nights a week and Saturdays, ugh, it is hard to find the time and energy. I really want to do some scrubs, some homemade vanilla extract and maybe some Captain Morgan and Baileys....those are easy. Just need to start working on a plan.

Right now with Hubby going to work ( :ya ) and the kids back in school I am just trying to get organized. My day begins when I get home from the morning drop off at 8....then I leave at 1:30 and that is it. I drop off my girls at home after school, have about 15 minutes then I have to leave to get my son and that takes an hour...then I have another 15 minute before leaving for cheer...then I get home at 7:30. So my whole afternoon, from 1:30 on is shot. I need to get my self organized, and back on my little Flylady routine....or else my few hours *poof* disappear.

I am glad that things are moving in a good direction for you guys!

Hey Gina, you mentioned needing to do some sourdough...I have plenty if you want to meet up, I would be happy to give you some.

It would have to be on a weekday, not Thursday though. I could meet you up near North County Fair if you'd like...just let me know!

Ok, sounds like a plan. I am not sure if I have room in my life for a SD starter though. :barnie Are they high maintenance?

Now let me ask you, when making SD you don't need yeast right? I wonder how this will play for my dh. I avoid giving him a ton of bread. Not because he needs to be gluten free, at least that we know of. But because the yeast causes his Gout to flair up. Yes I know were just falling apart. Getting old I think.

Well my days are just running together. I am trying to stay home as much as I can to avoid spending money. It did not work today. I went to the fabric store to buy a few pieces of missing fleece for my Christmas blankets. :hide You guys are so inspiring that I made two yesterday. After laying out all the fabric pairs I realized I was one color and one kid off. So I fixed that today. I hope to make 3 more tomorrow.

The re fi is still crawling along. They have called twice and just "suggested" we roll our other debt into the loan. Something about debt to income ratio and subordinates. So I caved what the heck it's still debt they can have it if they want it. But today the loan processor asked for tax returns. When ever this stuff comes up I need to explain my dh's employment to his father and how convoluted his pay structure was. So who knows if it will even go through now. :barnie

I finally got some more seeds in the garden. It is so cool and breezy here I really don't think they are going to grow.

Dh built a door for my cupboard under the stairs. I looks great. Still needs some trim but definitely critter proof.

Last Sat was our Anniversary. I think the door was my gift. :D I also bought myself a root cellar-ing book on Amazon. We stayed in, laid low. (my new favorite thing to do)

Other than that life is just about the same for me. Kinda hum drum. Nothing all that exciting.

Gina, you don't ( or shouldn't) need yeast with real SD. I am trying to do a traditional 24 hour ferment to eat up some of the gluten and am not getting a good rise, but I think that is because of the method I am using.
As for maintenance, I feed mine twice a day because I am afraid to have it out oF sight for fear I will forget about it, plus I am playing with it alot. Most folks feed it and then pop it inti the frig for a few days. Not real clear on that since I don't do that though.
