I know Dac's something is definitely up with the weather. I talked to a guy on the phone today in Tx. We talked about the weather. He couldn't believe it was so hot here. My niece is up near Redondo Beach/ Lawndale 110 there too.

Hey OFG, Maybe I should grab that chicken and head your way!!

I did try to make the most of my day. I dried lots of laundry on the line and made sun tea. I can't wait to try it. It's been a while since I have had sun tea.

Geesh today would be a great day for an outdoor shower. One more project to add to the list.

After days and weeks of temps in the 90s - I had to put on a long sleeved shirt today and long pants. It's been raining all day.

Summer finally arrived in CA. A friend of mine said it was 112 where she was............. I'm SO glad we aren't there anymore, we hit 113 in 2006, in July - I thought I was seriously going to die. No aircond. in the house it was just horrible!

Wow....we had temps at 104 this summer....we are finally getting significant rain....haven't gotten any since March...

I don't know how you all in Cali deal with this crazy heat....whew.

Gina I heard on the news that it was officially 111 at miramar....pretty close to me! My DD swore that the thermometer at school said 111, guess she was right!

I am sure she was Dace. My thermometer was reading 109 at about 11am. It went up a bit by noon. This morning I got up at 4am. After seeing hubby off I laid a blanket and pillow on my porch. I was resting comfortably until the dog freaked out over a coyote cruising by. Scared me to death. I seriously hope today is cooler. I can't take another day like yesterday.

I may just go hang out in my camper. Turn on the ac and nap for the morning. I feel a bit sleep deprived.

Lori, rain sounds heavenly right now. I can only wish.

Wildsky, I remember that heat wave. I lost several chickens.

The news last nite said that LA hit 113, the hottest EVER recorded in history! And SF was 92, but not a record. Remember that the ave for SF is about 62 in the summer.

Another hot day today, then gradual cooling off the remainder of the week. Right now its 8:37 and 88 degrees outside. Time to close up the house. And turn on the misters for the chickens.

I is soo cool here right now. There are clouds and a breeze coming from the south east. I love Monsoonal moisture!!!!

I can't believe the difference. It's about 78 here. That's like 20 degrees cooler than yesterday this time.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for a cooler day.
