Oh wow!! Those are awesome! What a sight to wake up to!

We had an insanely hot summer and it was in the 90's until this weekend... and now it is 72!! In Florida! at almost noon! (worried about my squash now :/ )

Hope it is a better day!

Wow, I'd snag it, even if to resell it later. You can do grapes in that thing, too, I think. You never know when you can get your hands on boxes of apples....build it and they will come!

We have had over 100 temps too. So far I lost one of my Wellsummer pullets. Another pullet apparently suffered a heat stroke and is not recovering. I plan on putting her out of her misery this evening, when it cools off a bit. She is in the bathroom for now, where it is nice and cool.
I will be going out shortly to turn on the mister for the chickens and sprinkler for the goats. Then around 3 this afternoon, I will go out and give the chickens a cool bath.. I keep a large shallow tub out there, The water from the mister drips into it, filling it up. Then I take the hot chicken and dunk it's feet in the cool water until they no longer breathe with the beak open. Then I set them into the tub. They quickly hop out, shake, give me a dirty look and usually start scratching in the dirt.

that is so funny looking to me (from Florida) that the air temp is hotter than the heat index!! LOL - I guess it is really true about "dry heat" , because when it was 94* air temp it was 116 heat index!

Stay cool!!

Murphys, It's actually humid here now. The heat is tolerable but I am all sticky!!!! :barnie That little device you have must be pretty cool!!! :thumbsup

Al, to be honest I don't really understand the concept of "heat index". From what I gather its how hot it feel when humdidity is taken into consideration???

Ok so this is what I have in the oven. Yes I am baking. I had to. I had roasted two chickens over the weekend and had pot pie planned for today. But anyways. I am baking one of my Cushaw. Now some of these grew with a bulb end and a few grew huge and straight. This one had an odd end so I figured it should be cooked first. Check this thing out.
