The verdict is in. The Cushaw pumpkin pie is wonderful. Great flavor. I used the leftover squash I baked last night and had enough for 2 pies. Whoo hoo!!!!
So anybody wanna here my funny story about falling on the floor in a doughnut shop today???
I finally took some time to go into my local doughnut shop to ask for buckets. She said they normally give them away. I offer 1 to 2 bucks if she saves them for me. I buy a muffin. I didn't want to seem cheap, kinda wanted to leave a good impression.
Ha!!! Turned to leave, floor was wet, flip flop came off leg went one way, head went the other, muffin went flying.
Talk about graceful. It was really not that painful but I did feel the need to take a bow. I am sure the 6 old guys drinking their coffee hadn't seen moves like that in quit a while. :bun I was thoroughly embarrassed. I stood up, straightened my back and neck out. Which were pretty tweaked. The girl behind the counter was in shock. She comes running "are you ok, are you ok??? You know what my reply was. I told her "I'm fine but she better have my buckets tomorrow".
She said sure not a problem. I think I just secured my bucket contact for life!!!
So I came home took 4 Motrin and a half of Soma. All better.

Then just now I looked out and it was a complete downpour!
Of course it only lasted a few minutes, but I was GREAT!

Actually I am a bit sore. My dh said I should have laid on the floor and moaned. lol That's just not my style. My foot and right thigh muscle are really sore. I will survive though. I just need to go ask for the buckets this afternoon.
Dace, yes we are having drizzle and thunder right now as I type this. It's awesome!!!!
I hope my 5yo is ok at school. This would be hr first thunder away from Mom.

Hi Pam, how are things going for you?? How are the costumes for the boys?
Well the bucket haul was ok. I got 4. That 4 I did not have to buy. so I figure I earned 20 bucks yesterday.
Today I am going to putz...
I need to go freezer shopping, make a diner list for next week and lay low.
My Re Fi on the house still has not gone through. Every time I turn around they are asking for other things and requesting signed letter of explanations. I am about ready to tell them where to stick it. I think if they are this picky something is up. I don't trust One West at all.
It drizzled and thundered all day yesterday. At one point on the east side of my house I had a 40 mile per hour wind blowing in the front door. On the west the sun was setting below the clouds and it was a soft drizzle. Very odd. We did see a full rainbow.
Well not a lot to talk about. Have a great day!!

Score on the buckets. I ordered some of those lids you mentioned. What I would give for some rain! Been months and months. We got your clouds up here yesterday, but they were high thin ones. Raised the humidity by 10 points tho.
My weather report that I cut and paste is from Weather Underground. You type in your city, like Ramona, MiraMar, Escondido, or wherever you live and it'll give you all the private ppl who have the fancy weather stations. The one I paste on here, lives around the corner, over the hill from me. So he's the closest to our home, who reports his stats.
Some of the ppl have webcams too. Thats cool. I'd like to do it, but there is no extra money for any fancy weather gear, much less a web cam. But someday I'd like to have a web cam, to be able to see my grandaughter up in WA, to show my family how our grapes are growing, etc.
