Yes, it is a brooder lamp... I kept it in there after we moved them in at 3 weeks. I have since unplugged it but hubby has it zip tied to the frame so the birds wouldn't mess with it. We originally had a 100 watt bulb on them in the brooder and switched to a 70 watt bulb at night only for the first week after they got their feathers and then cut it off completely. It has worked really well. I also feed them on the ground to avoid the stampede to the food bowls. I have to feed them twice a day but it makes them move around more and scratch in the taller grass to find their food. They seem to be very healthy and more active than last years bunch. Still dumb as rocks though. :p

WOOHOO!! Great score!

Awesome looking tractor btw, I likes! I'm working on turning a trampoline into a tractor for my eating birds.
Ok, I'm picturing the birds jumping on the trampoline, turning flips, etc.

ha! I have a 14 ft trampoline out in the yard. I have already told the kids it's fair game when they get older. Honestly I could probably just wrap the legs with wire now and throw some birds under there. It's just kinda heavy to move.

Lori, how did you attach your wheels?

Ok so I am really excited. I posted an add for corrugated panels on CL. I got a response today, 1 day later. A man has 12, 6 ft green and 7, 9ft panels for me.. All for 20 bucks!!!!! He says they have been in the attic for like 30 years. But never used and in great condition. :clap

I am so blessed!!!! :woot

I am going to pick them up in the morning!!!
Great score! :ya Check to see if they are brittle before you buy! :thumbsup

Great score on those panels. You know there is an upside and a down side on many of them. We put ours the wrong side up and they deteriorated within one year :/ The smooth side needs to face the sun ;)

I was thinking what I can try to figure out if they are ok. He said they were not exposed to sun just stored. But I know how hot my attic gets. :idunno

But I guess if I have that many and 1 brakes I can replace it. should I try to snap the corner off one? What do you think?

Oooo thanks FD. I didn't know that.

When I help him move them, I'd just put a little stress on them as you handle, to see if they crack.

Hes actually leaving them out side his house for me. He said if I want them just stick a $20 in his mailbox. It was funny we got to talking about me using them on a chicken tractor. He said he originally wanted them for the same thing but never made one.

I guess I will see when I get there.
