Wow Gina. That's tough. Do they know what caused it? Glad no one was hurt.

We lost everything 4 months after we were married in an apartment fire and we didn't have renters insurance. It was January 1, 2000 and due to the y2k scare it was crazy. The firemen actually showed up drunk :th

Anyway, just a reminder -I'm sure everyone knows this buttools, guns, welding equipment, shop tools, etc. usually require a special rider on your policy so check with your agent to make sure any "unusual" stuff is covered.

FramngFowl, gosh, I don't even want to think about my ins policy. They are already sticking it to me because I accidentally admitted to having a trampoline and a Rottie. My policy more than tripled this year.

BB is a hundred pages a good thing or does it mean I have to much drama? Sorry I am over drama right now.

Farmer Chick, I like my days boring and predictable.

So last night after dark I got a phone call from the elderly German neighbor. She said she had no power. I guess because when she called 911 they got her home confused with the burning one and turned her power/gas off also. She is rather naieve in thes matters so I called the electric company. The wouldn't let me do anything, so off I went down the drive with my cell and flashlight. Which died half way down. I really need a good flashlight. Then about 1 1/2 hours later she came up the hill because her phone did not work. It did when I was there. So dh had gotten home and wanted to make sure her pilot was lit on her water heater. So off they went down the hill. Turns out a breaker popped in the garage. Water heater was good. Wheew!

Now here it is another day. I am scrambling like a mad woman to get my trailer loaded. I need to put out large quantities of feed for my birds. Lots to do and list to check.

Crazy day....I hope things work out for your neighbor, that has to be hard....losing everything in your garage. Poor guy.

Nice of you and your Hubby to go help the elderly neighbor :)

Have a great trip...do you take off tomorrow? My kids have tomorrow off but then have to go back on Fri. Stupid. I don't remember it ever being this way, seems we always had a Fri or a Mon off. Stupid.

We actually have both Thurs and Fri off. So we are heading out today. My dh really needs some down time. Heck we all do. So I will be up to my eyeballs in dirt in a blink of an eye. And loving every minute. I hope.

My dramatic, gossipy friends are supposed to be coming. That is a whole drama queens story I spared you guys this week. It was so annoying I didn't even want to dignify it.

My in laws are coming with 4 of the older grand kids. Uhhh who is going to be riding and supervising these kids? My fil has a bad hip, it got recalled. Sad but true. My mil? She doesn't even like the desert because she has asthma.

Uggg....

Did I bring enough to drink???

:( Sucks about your neighbor's garage. Good thing there was that adobe wall there and I'm ever so glad it didn't spread!

My aunt & uncle were burned out twice over the course of a decade. Both times it was a total property loss but no injuries. But it messed their heads up so bad this last time, they moved 6 states away. :(

Have... uh... fun? with your friends & in-laws. :p

Hey all, wow it's good to be home!!!

We had a good weekend in the desert with the in laws. The "friends" who were supposed to meet us chose to go to another location. That's a whole nother story I don't even want to get into. So it was a very quiet kid oriented weekend.

We decided to come home on Sat. I told dh we had to leave the desert no later than 2:30pm. Other wise we would not make it home before dark. He backs the trailer up our 600 ft uphill driveway. It's impossible in the dark.

So all was good and we were making pretty good time until about 10 miles away from home. The serpentine belt on the Freightliner broke. Ok we can handle this. BIL calls a neighbouring city gets one, picks it up, brings it to us, and helps install. God bless this man. Well while sitting on the side of the highway, which in Ca means on a dirt shoulder of a 16 lane road, we had more issues. When a semi with two fuel tanks sits on an angle the fuel all drains to one side. Which happens to suck when the pick up is on the up hill side.

So I have AAA and road side assistance with my GMAC ins. Both gave me the run around about bringing me diesel fuel. AAA wanted to bring me $7 worth which is about 2 gallons. GMAC gave me a spiel about no diesel. Excuse me, when I bought my insurance through them I told them I was driving a Semi. What the heck do they think it runs on?

Anyways, fil drove home. Dropped off his rig and truck then went and got us fuel. Minimum 10 gallons to do the trick. So 4 hours after breaking down we were on our way. The whole adventure took place with 3 hungry crabby kids and one very tired dog. Oh and me almost having a nervous breakdown. :barnie

I love being home. :bow

So this morning after a good nights sleep I was happy to unload the rig, feed the animals and do my chores. I then moved on to the chicken tractor and a few other things.

I have a couple pics to share as well.

Welcome home! Sounds like you had a great weekend, until the end. Car troubles makes everyone crazy! Your poor dog look worn out, and glad to be sleeping! LOL Getting away from home for a few days always make me even more glad to be home. :) love the tractor. I SO need to get off my lazy behind, and get wheels on mine for spring poults. Yeah, when I get a minute. LOL
