Haha Is Stevia a vegetable???? My mom's growing a few "Gingko Biloba" Trees that she got for a gift and they had to sit at room temperature and stay moist for a month, go in the refrigerator for 2 months, then go back out in room temperature until they sprout. Then, they have a special growing medium. However, they're really cool trees.

Anyways, My dad and I built a cold frame but it snowed AGAIN so I can't put it outside.

Stevia is green and you can eat it. Close enough for me!

We had 1 day about a week ago where the ground was dry enough to play in the garden. We turned over some soil so the hens could feast on worms. The garden is now frozen again and covered with ice and snow. *sigh* I know how you feel.

I have a Jiffy tray seed starter - my eldest daughter talked me out of buying a second one this weekend, implying 72 plants was more than enough. :)

I get one every year, and last year, since they were on sale, I got 2, and I might be able to buy replacements (soil planter things) for my old one!!!!!

My broccoli and lettuce is sprouting :D I am anxious to get more in the dirt! I have strawberries, potatoes, onions, and garlic out. I have briccoli, tomatoes, and peppers started so far. I am PRAYING for some nice days to get the ground broke good for everything else SOON! :D That's my update.

You're lucky your ground isn't frozen... So unfair..... She has an advantage against getting the first veggie!!! Cheater! :p

Yesterday, my mom saw me at the store reading all of the seeds and she said, "You have the spring itch already, don't you!?!?!?!?" It's so true...

See, this is why I need more folks with the same geographical challenges as me. These southern gardeners have about 6 extra weeks of growing time. We'll just have to show them what we can do!!!!!

Location
NOT Southern, Ca. :)
I had a Stevia in the garden lat year. My son would eat a mint leaf and a stevia at the same time. :idunno

I never harvested any leaves. One of my tomatoes fell over on top of it and I never saw it again. While cleaning up and prepping for spring I found it all brown and crunchy. I just cut it back and left the roots. I was out the other day and saw green at the bottom. :fl Maybe it will come back.

Right now I have a bunch of leggy squash in my laundry room. My tomatoes are getting their second leafs and the bells are about 1 inch tall.

I need to get some stuff transplanted. And labeled.

Oh, I forgot to add that I'm going to try to grow a few gourds for birdhouses, but I do't know how they'll do since where I'm planting them gets mixed sun/ shade, however it gets BRIGHT sun in th morning, and then mixed for the rest of the day.

show me :p I'm not cheating, just using what God has given me WHERE He gave it to me ;) I hope everyone's garden is GORGEOUS this year!!

Tater, I think James garden will be more in your zone than mine. I do have it slightly better than both of you on the zone thing, but I am not the bestest gardener either so :hu it'll probably be about even
