$160 poor me

dr. thinks the deer I fed him upset his whole gut. no more deer. she said a little chicken, steak and dog food is all he can have. no more extras that he doesn't normally get.

got fluid under the skin, got nausea meds, anitbiotics cause she said his little gut is tore up. he 'seems' ok but ears and tail are down...but he should improve fast she said if I do what she said to fix up his gut.

MAN WHEN I had big dogs I could feed them anything and everything. She said the biggies can handle it but the little toy dogs are like porcelain. oh bite me ya know LOL

but hopefully by Xmas he will be fine. I want this over now :)
I don't mind some poops but days and days ain't cool

the old 'it is always something' is a phrase I should tattoo on my forehead!

With my little dogs, the first thing I try is boiled and rinsed hamburger meat with white rice. About 1/3 hb to 2/3 rice. That almost always works! I understand about not being able to feed little dogs extras! Ours do get dog biscuits, sometimes homemade, and a little homemade chicken broth on their dry food. That's it unless they find something they shouldn't. Good luck! Little ones do make good bed warmers!!!!!

hey snap

yea, I thought about rice also. must be a good binding agent or something but didn't get a chance to feed him rice.

he seems better. poop is controlled and almost gone now, icky still but he is on the mend.

I will be very careful on the feeding definitely from now on....these little suckers you just can't feed like the big ones :)

I remembered also I threw him a big deer leg bone that came out of that roast Tony did on the grill. had alot of meat on it also.
no wonder that dogs gut is blown hahaha and the bone was as big as him lol

BAD NEWS

Somedays ya just want to run and hide.

Tony's mom called last night. FIL has stomach cancer and it is in the lymph nodes and they think bones.
they are doing a hip bone marrow biopsy right after Christmas. He is going to an oncologist to start a treatment plan.

Oh boy....not good that I can see. He has been not eating well. He has been flaking out for a bit now. was having those intestinal troubles and more and now the stomach is involved.

So taking this all one day at a time to see what goes down. Nothing about what she said sounds good to me at all. Sounds like a bad situation is about to unfold. VA Dr. said it is the kind of cancer that is associsated with A. Orange from Vietnam. His dad was there so he is going to file for funds or something iwth the military. (I don't know much about that)

BUT we are going out Christmas Eve's to Big Daddys restaurant and we will all have a blast. Then home here for Christmas eve presents and some fun.

good gravy

Tony called to say Kevin, his best friend, the custom slaughterhouse buddy, his daddy just passed away this morning.

Perk was over 80 and had a stroke and went downhill pretty fast and passed this morning. Kev is going to take this very hard. And 2 days before Christmas Perk was a character in a good and funny way and a very nice man.

Funeral will be monday I assume. Have to order flowers and find out when the viewing is and all that.

this is a rough holiday for many I know this year. :(
