Pump and dump.

I realize I really lucked out with my doe June!! Last year she was a FF and she stood perfectly still from the beginning for milking. Plus, her teats are huge...they fit in my whole hand. I'm so lucky! I wonder if it's because she's an Oberhasli (pretty laid back goats), or if it's because I took her babies and she bonded to me, or if it's just because I got lucky and she's a calm goat.

When I milked cows, there was one particular Jersey who had long teats. You want small teats on cows when you're milking with machines, and I'd always have to stuff her teats down into the inflation. I called her "Goat Tit".

Wanna - my nubian/oberhasli doe has the same issue. She had her FF this year and her teats are as big as my pinky nail. I've tried milking her and it's exhausting. She's great on the stand but I can't get anything out.

I'm going to try taping her teats up in a week or two and let her fill up for about 12-14 hours. She still has her kids with her so they pretty much keep her drained all the time, so I'm hoping that if I let her fill up it'll help stretch her teats a little and make milking easier.

I can just imagine the looks on someone's face that stumbles across this thread w/out a clue.

Even worse, someone who turns it up on a google search so they only see a particular phrase out of context ...

 you all are killin me! I have decided to try a breast pump :p I know it may not work, but then again it may :hu I actually did get a cup and a half this morning in about 45 minutes, so it is getting better. Her kids are almost 10 weeks old, so maybe she was starting to dry up. I know her udders looked absolutely huge this morning. I got rid of the buckling last week so she's not being milked near as much by the babies now. I think she is trying to wean the little doe, because she was so huge! It may get better. Her teats are still small but that may change if she weans the doe and has a full udder every morning.

I am so tired! we moved 6 and a half 16 ft. trailer loads plus a truckload of furniture today. I have muscles hurting I didn't even know I had!!

I found a stupid tick on me too...perhaps that is why I felt like garbage this afternoon. Other than being exhausted I felt sick too. I hate ticks :/

I'd rather have ticks than guineas

I got the tick from the boss's house I think. they have about 14(thousand) cats and 4 or 5? dogs...I'm pretty sure that is where I picked it up.
