Better?
Much! I could have used it earlier in the day. It was quite hot and humid out! Right now, it's trying to storm. I hope it does.

Did you use any tonic at all on the squash bugs?
Not yet. This morning I was more focused on planting more corn ;) I am glad too, because with the heavy rain we just got an hour or so ago, it would have been wasted effort. I will spray them in the morning though. Squash bugs are getting onto my tomato plants now :somad This means WAR buddy!!!

I am sooooo proud of the garden this year though, we have saved $140 on groceries this month, and this is due solely to eating out of the garden a WHOLE lot. Fried green tomatoes has been several meals by themselves ;) DH LOVES them. We have cut our budget wayyyy back without even missing it, and have been really enjoying the fresh stuff to eat...WOW! This is the best garden year we have ever had :) I am so thrilled, just had to share that :D I did spend $20 on peaches this week, and have time to put them up. I'm so glad for our change of lifestyle. I love being home. I need to go figure how much we're actually earning by me staying home and gardening just because I'm a numbers nerd and wanna know :p Can't wait to be able to afford the plastic for the greenhouse!! I just started putting a little back every week for that and DD's homeschool materials, of course her tuition and books come first, but I sure will be glad to get the greenhouse done and growing things year round!

would be interested in seeing the numbers. I thought I was going to have a nice lettuce salad for dinner tonight, but the hens had other ideas...

I need to find time keep the everything watered during this current dry spell. I side dressed the corn this evening.

You mean the corn in the garden, or the corn in the farmer's field up the road where I'm going to buy most of what I put up this year? :)

That stuff up the road looks great! We'll see if the side dressing and a good soaking helps my corn.
