You know, RU has a zebu bull. (He was SUPPOSED to be a steer!) Maybe she should see about using him for breeding.

Jamester, glad you're still getting yours, but I won't be. First off the man never called for me to come look, and DH's unemployment has ran out, still no signs of work. Maybe later :hu It's no big deal, just not the right time. The door wasn't open for me obviously ;)

I got 27 strawberries set out today, an apple tree, and two raspberry bushes :D

Don't ask me what kind of apple tree.....it's just the kind that is self polinating :p That's all I cared about. I justed wanted a self polinating apple. I'm rather simple  Raspberries are for DH, strawverries are for me and the neighbors and that hunk of chocolate waiting in the freezer to be melted down and wrapped around a big juicy ripe berry.... :drool

I got eggs delivered today, and a bit of necessary shopping done with a few freebies from Wally Mart.

I need to make bread and clean up my bator for the next round. :D

Saturday I am taking several chickens to the flea market for sale. I am getting TOO many eggs, and want to cut back my layers just a smidgen. I think right now I have 38, about 20 of which are laying, and then some little ones that will be laying in a couple months. I have the chicks sold already, and any others I happen to hatch this Spring, so I am concentrating on making a bit of cash with them. Even cutting back we will have too many darn eggs! I have plenty frozen already! I want more duck eggs, but NO MORE chicken eggs! I can't even keep enough cartons for the dang things right now :p I have a couple of loyal customers i want to keep in eggs, but beyond that...I need to cut back on the feed bill for a bit. The chickens are already getting scrambled eggs once a week or so and I don't want to make that a habit. I have been getting about 8-9 dozen per week. We can only handle about 3 and that is pushing it. The neighbors and customers get 4 dozen, so I need to cut back about 8-10 hens.

My ducks seem to have quit :hu I wish I could find more customers and keep the birds, but I really need to cut back.

My one I hope will set, and I have figured it up by the time the clutch is finished in 10 days or so. They begin incubation almost 5 and a half weeks before easter :D

I'm hoping to have bunnies for sale at Easter this year. I may have some ducks and chicks too. I plan on it, but things don't always go as planned :p

Sorry to hear about the no-go on the mini's. Maybe the door that does open for you will be even neater. :hu

I have been looking into waxing eggs :p We get more than we need, then my girls slack right off, and I have a bunch of wax from my cheese experiments, so why not?!

Yeah I have read of doing water glass and different things to preserve them. I want to pickle some, but don't remember if I like pickled eggs or not :hu Maybe some spicy pickled eggs would be good :drool I LOVE the Penrose beer sausages and was thinking if I could get THAT flavor on a boiled egg...I'd do a TON of them :p Never heard of waxing...enlighten me :D
