Your mom's work helps with that. We don't "go to" work, because work is here, and I am having a hard time selling right now :hu Everybody here seems to be getting chickens!!! :rant Now I'm not weird anymore :rant

So I was cooking breakfast this morning and everything was going fine. I had the bacon ready and the biscuits had been in the oven for about 20 minutes. I had just started the eggs and turned the broiler on in the oven to brown the biscuits and heard this weird hiss and pop and noticed sparks shooting all over the oven.... :hu The top element was spewing sparks and popping so I turned it off and got my biscuits out, and it just kept going and going and going... I guess it has a short in it somewhere. It was turned OFF but still burning pretty hot, and I figured it would fizzle on out, but it didn't. I fixed everyone's plate and sat down to eat, watching it for about 10 minutes, thinking it would finally go out..but it got hotter, red hot, like it was turned on after a bit, and so we yanked it out and unplugged the stove. Guess I gotta buy a new one now. We enjoyed the fireworks during breakfast :p That stove is fairly old anyway. It was here when the house was built in 99, so it was due for a new one anyway. I think it was a used model in the first place, so probably 15ish years old. Anyway.....

So does anyone have any recommendations? I DO NOT want a glass top, or gas. I'm talking recommendations on model/brand/etc. Any ideas are appreciated. Low budget, but I don't want the cheapest cheapie on the market either. I want something that will last and preferrably use as little electricity as possible at a reasonable price.

On another note, I sold 17 chicks, 7 hens, and 3 roos today. SOOOOO glad to get rid of those dang roos!!! They were really too old and ornery to be worth eating since my freezer is stocked anyway. I'll put the money toward my new stove. I think I will go pick one out, maybe pick it up tomorrow. Praise God we have income tax refund en route or we'd be dealing with a hot plate for a while :p

Trucky is acting strange the last week or so. Twice I have cranked it and started out and realized somehow the tow/haul has been engaged. I have to stop, and cut it off and restart for that to go off. I dunno what's causing it, so ya'll fill a weird request for me and pray for my truck to work it's own kinks out, k?

Church was nice, the neighbors went with us today. :) She offered to let me use her stove if I need to...so sweet. I am BLESSED to have such wonderful neighbors :love

Hope everyone else's day was wonderful and blessed!!!

ive always had good luck with whirlpool and GE...my current stove is a GE (gotta be about 20 years old) and its still going strong, heats evenly ect...
My parents have had whirlpools since moving to the us, their origional stove in the house came with the house which was built the year before i was born, they replaced the stove 2 years ago with another whirlpool, the origional stove was 25yrs old and other than looking old it worked perfectly...
