I'd take more but you're probably a wee bit far away from me. I like the fact that these terrible trees can't grow through them and the deer don't like them either! I think I'd have the whole yard in them if I could! I'd probably replace the front hostas with them, too, since the deer don't eat them. Of course I shouldn't say that too loudly... if they get hungry enough, ALL bets are off. They eat my azaleas and they aren't supposed to like those!! :barnie
I just can't defend this property, and that is what makes it so difficult, between the deer and the trees....

Plant some marigolds in and around all the plants the deer love so much! Azaleas are supposed to be poisonous to them, to the point of killing them if they eat too much of it, Irises are deadly to deer.

Well, they did start eating the azaleas when they were desperate during the winter when we had triple massive snow storms. I guess when you're hungry you'll eat just about anything, even if it will kill you! (too bad it didn't...)
I think I'll try to start cultivating the irises to spread them around, they're pretty enough and if the deer don't like them AND the trees can't grow through them then it sounds good to me!
July, I will try to wait until July.

Yeah you probably need to wait for July there. It's warm already here, so I am getting started  I can't seem to kill mine anyway..and yeah we have actually TRIED a few times and gave up and started selling them. Even when i think I have a bed cleaned out completely...more come back the next year from broken off roots.

I'm jealous of your warmer weather! Wish I could do it this weekend, next weekend we are mulching so it would look all pretty. But if I need to wait I need to wait.
Wish I could take some off your hands, I'd love to have an entire yard of flowers, even if they do bloom all at once! :p It would be better than the mostly dirt/bare patches under the trees now.

I love irises! They're my favorite flower! Our place is so shady that getting them to bloom here is difficult. All but the stinking blue ones. They always bloom and they're my least favorite. Glad your well again!

I'm watching Tennessee and Kentucky weather. Kentucky is worrying me. Tornadoes toward where the kids are. Wonder if it'd be okay to call and check on them later...

This is the worst part about Spring here :barnie

Ive got blue, purple, white, bi color, yellow, baby blue and no telling what other colors, but the pretty ones hardly ever bloom. Maybe once every couple of years. Most of them were already here when my parents moved here.
