I did my jams and stuff today!!! :weee :weee I delivered a few taters too :p but mostly jams, 5 pints of strawberry/raspberry/blackberry/blueberry, 6 pints of strawberry/grape, 6 pints of strawberry/blackberry/blueberry/grape, and 6 pints of strawberry. 23 total :D I had to make homemade bicuits with it tonight to sample, and tried the mixed berry it's delicious :drool

Half went to the neighbor :)

Then I met another neighbor because a house I thought to be empty, I drove up in the driveway to say "Hi" to the new neighbors, and they weren't new :hide They've been here two years, and I just haven't ever stopped by there. Nobody stays there long so I never bothered and then made a stupid assumption that those folks were new :hu anyway, they're apparently hurting right now, L was in a wreck and broke several major bones in her extremeties. SEVERAL! Scars forever on that lady. It hurt me to look at them :hide Anyway, they seem to be nice enough folks, and they're coming to church with us Sunday :) I gave them taters, and promised to make them a dedicated stop off until they get back on their feet. She is a Yankee ;) from Maine. She was in the hospital there for a few months, and then came back here. Meanwhile, the house got robbed and they stole a freezer full of food, riding mower, and various other appliances :/ Some lugnut needs a good old fashioned whoopin for that, but anyway, they are in a bad spot. She can no longer work. M has a job at the moment, in N.O. so travels back and forth. The company he works for is hiring, and may hire DH, so M gave him all the info, and they talked for a bit. He used to work for DH, DH had hired him on at a job right before we got together....and fired him a few months later because he was lazy  M was only 24 at the time, no kids etc. etc. of course he was lazy ;) Anyway they talked for a bit, and me and L talked for a bit because they stopped by the house here after I left there. :) They seem to be really sweet folks, a bit of a sketchy background here and there, but very nice overall, and well...I'll befriend about anybody that doesn't flip me the bird :p I've run with the wrong crowd before and know how hard it is to "get that smell out of your clothes" so we will see if we become good pals or not. True charachter will come out, and if they are as nice as they seem, and just fallen on terrible times, maybe we can be of some help to them. I hope so, but then, I'm a perpetual optimist too. :p I love meeting new people though :D

Sounds yummy :drool

And I will pray for L & M as they get back on their feet. Bless you for befriending them, I know you are not the type to get walked all over if it doesn't work out but I'm also an optimist and hopeful that it will all go in positive directions :)

First off, I have never heard of strawberry-grape jam - I've GOT to try that!

I hate meeting new people! I am a total anti-social personality - I admire your ability to approach people like that, even a Yankee

I made that last year, and it is super yummy--my fave from 2011. The grape + strawberry sounds intriguing, especially if it makes it MORE strawberry tasting! I'll have to try it this year :) (Would Concords work?)
