How big is the clutch? How old are they?
That was the "hanging" weight. After trimming off the fat and deboning, the 1/2 beef filled the standing freezer to about 1/2 -2/3 capacity. I think I remember the slaughter charge was $40, and it was $2.50/lb for the butcher shop to process, but we did that ourselves.Wannabefree said:700 pounds *might* be manageable.BarredBuff said:It would be a lot of beef. You could start making your own dog food. Jerky. Hamburger. Steaks. You could sell some.
Hows the goat milk?
Are the ducks laying?![]()
Not sure. They are way up in our old CH&A unit on a metal ledge up in there where I can't get to them. I HOPE they are brooding! Otherwise...we gonna have a stink before longBarredBuff said:How big is the clutch? How old are they?

I have not much of a clue about cattle raising/butchering etc. It has been a LOOOOOOOOng time since I had anything to do with cows, and i didn't pay much attention then because I was a stupid teenager..no offense to present company intendedFarmerJamie said:That was the "hanging" weight.
