I learned something new about squash bugs that might be helpful. If you delay planting until later in the growing season chances lesson that squash bugs will attack your squash plants. You will probably need to determine the optimal date for direct sowing squash seed for your location.

I planted pumpkins mid July. We'll see if they produce this year. I've had late planted squashes produce before, but that was in a different environment.

Today I got more tomatoes, 3 watermelons, and watered the greenhouse. I haven't watered the watermelons at all but apparently they're still getting too much water under the woodchips. They split, almost explode when cut.

They would be easy to clean out the insides.

They are very dark colored....pretty and uniform growth. 👍

I'm thinking I'll put the goats into my garden area. A mob lunch! 🤣. Hoping to get it eaten down so I can till a section for Fall plants. Yeah, THAT overgrown!

I'll go cut tomato vines out first. Potatoes gone/dug. Nothing else to harm them. Mostly grass now-- over 2' high.
