Got real lucky yesterday, was talking to a gentleman that owns around 200 acers of ground behind where I live, and he was looking for someone to help clean it up by cutting down the dead trees and cleaning up the downed ones. So far I have over a cord of wood, and it is all hardwood, maple, beach, birch and still lots more there yet. All it cost me is the gas to cut it up, the bike to go get it, and the sweat needed to do the work. Will save around $150.00 per cord....gotta love being in the right spot at the right time....
What a bargain.

We have a forest near us, and they charge a $30 fee, and then we can go in and collect downed tree's and such. We will probably do that next year.

Had to run to the store (Winco, AKA Mecca) last night about 9 and discovered name brand one pound chubs of ground turkey breast being cleared out at 49 cents. Originally $3.98. I bought them all. They also had 1.25 pound packages of Johnsonville hot Italian sausage for $.89. Bought all five. I now have a completely full freezer, not another piece of meat can fit in there.

I really think that Western Union and any other money wiring company should shut down money going into those african countries - I know its harsh as some people could be sending for real, for their family and such, but enough is enough!

I have family in Africa and have sent money once or twice, but then it was easier for me to give my sister my cc number for her to use when she needed it - I paid for her computer. :D

That's a great cost savings! I wish I could find wood cheaper than $250/cord... We did buy 5 acres of maple forested land at the end of this summer, and we will manage it to hopefully provide us with all the wood we need for our house... we just don't have any dried yet, so stuck buying wood for one more year.

Today I saved money buy trading a portrait of my coach's grandkids for four free horseback riding lessons :)

awww dangit..I forgot to get my husbands .223 ammo... It was on sale...I bet it's gone too :he

Today I saved money by hitting the black Friday sales, and by buying less for my children than I had in previous years. Thanksgiving night, I carefully plan out what I am going to get the next day, and then write everything down, circle it in the add, and write down the page number. I get to Wal-mart at midnight so that I don't have to rush, and put everything in my basket that's on competitors ad, then wait for the 5am and get everything else on my list that walmart is selling on their sales ad(though this year at the store I went to, they didn't have their pallets covered like usual, and everyone had the sale items way before 5, except for the big ticket items..we had to wait till 5 for those.. and we were standing in the checkout line for an hour instead of dealing with the crowd to scramble for items)

I imagine they did it this way b/c of the tramplings last year, and it was an excellent idea.

This is worth it to me for these reasons:
1:We don't buy a whole lot for the kids for Christmas anyway(too much clutter and we are lessening the grip of materialism on our kids systematically  )

2:We save a Ton of money!

3:I love people and go into it with a great attitude of: the items are not more important than the people around me trying to get those same items, and I'm here to have fun!

4: I have a well thought out, planned, and executed game plan, and if anything doesn't workout in that game plan, I don't get bent out of shape about it, I just roll with the punches.

5: I don't pick out anything that the kids wouldn't like, want or need just because it's on sale...the same method I use for using coupons.

I LOVE Black Friday shopping! It really is what you make of it! :D
