Murphysranch, I posted an English muffin recipe on, I think, Dace's sourdough thread. Don't know if it is like tink's, but I have always found it quite good.

I spent no $ yesterday and still got to go to the fair. A friend was going anyway, and I brought food for both of us to pay them for the ride. Got in for free, since I helped out at a demo for part of the day. Still had time to see what I wanted. :)

Yesterday I went to DD's to visit and work in her garden, since she is pretty much bed ridden. I gathered a large tub full of blackberry vines and weeds for the goats and the rabbit. Then I noticed that the grapevine that had climbed the redwood tree was loaded with wonderfull clusters of grapes. I decided to go and get those puppies down. I hopped up into the tree and started cutting away at the vines. some landed in the neighbors yard, but I managed to get most of them to land in our (DD's) yard. The vine goes quite far up into that tree and I guess the openness and sunshine protected those grapes from green rot, mold and even sunburn. The birds had started to get to them, But I managed to fill a large grocery bag to overflowing.

So it was a very good day. Got to visit with DD, brought home a huge bag of nice sweet seedless grapes, goat food and rabbit food.

Your body and your pocketbook will thank you. That's a hard habit to drop "cold-turkey." I hope you are prepared for a killer caffiene-withdrawal headache.

I hope you get through it easily. You will feel so much better when all that caffiene and sugar is out of your body and you can start healing.

Good afternoon everybody. I spent Sunday afternoon cooking from scratch, wedding soup, chicken broth, ham, cabbage and noodles and a pot of sauce and meatballs. This week we eat like kings with minimal effort during the week on my part. I will boil some veggies, throw together some quick salads and call it dinner. No eating out, no quick trips to the grocery store where money leaks out of my pockets.

Spent today canning salsa. My tomato plants are just starting to pump them out by the bucketful. I was late getting them in the ground so my plants are behind everybody else around here. I am trying to keep up with the processing. :D

My DD 10 has been having stomach problems, just had her tested for gluten intolerance and she is not. Whew, I think that's probably a money saver right there. Doctor wants her on as many whole foods as possible, avoid HFCS, food dyes, preservatives etc etc. We already do this quite a lot but she is my tough eater, she seems to always make the poor food choice. Work in progress.
