Sounds yummy! DH is sick and had a jar of bean soup. I had leftover sourdough bread with melted cheese and fermented tomato salsa made with Italian herbs from the garden. A little different but good.

Had a jar of white and a jar of sweet potatoes that didn't seal, so I mashed them together with milk, butter, dehydrated onions, and chipotle powder. Really good.

Must be something in the Northern air tonight, Henrietta23! We had turkey stew with cornbread!

The stew was made with turkey-frame broth reduced by almost half, flavored with rosemary, scallions, garlic, parsley, Celtic salt and black pepper. Thick with carrots, turnips, mushrooms (dried shiitakes), brocolli, and turkey breast cubes. Served with a teaspoon of barley miso for digestive benefits and flavor.

Cornbread was made with freshly ground kamut and corn, raw goat's milk kefir, butter, honey, fresh eggs, sea salt, and baking powder. Served with lots of butter.

Life is GOOD!!! :drool Leftovers for lunch!

Everything sounds so yummy guys! :drool

Tonight I'm making taco salad with me&thegals taco seasoning mix, organic ground beef, lots of greens, cheese, black olives and red onions. Nobody will miss the tortilla chips or taco shell.

me&thegals recipe:
Taco Seasoning
1 cup dried minced onion
1/3 cup chili powder
2 T cumin
4 t crushed red pepper (I had to use red pepper flakes)
1 T oregano
4 t garlic powder
2 t onion powder

Mix well. Store in airtight container. Use approximately 3 T per pound of browned ground hamburger. Add salt to taste. (I have to add that this is even better with a little water added, say about 2/3 cup.)

Oh...that taco seasoning sounds great! DH likes those nasty little taco seasoning packets form the grocery...I think they taste like dirt :sick
This one looks like a keeper!

Taco salad is a great idea...I can have my taco in a salad and everyone else here can have the traditional version. Excellent!

Last night was left over smoked pork simmered in BBQ sauce, home made baked beans and BBH's apple cabbage slaw (which was really good!)

I have to say that was the best taco seasoning I've ever had. I have about 5-6 more dinner's worth in that jar of seasoning I made up last night...no weird ingredients either. I'm even thinking gifting a jar or two to some of my mates...or Sam's teacher's present. Thank you me&thegals!!

I'm glad you liked the slaw...ugly word though isn't it? SLAW :p

One more thing about that taco seasoning, I add the leftover taco meat to my scrambled eggs this morning with a little more seasoning (it was still out on the counter) and it was delicious! I chopped up a bit more red onion and tomato and topped it all with grated cheddar. :drool
