icu4dzs - does this mean we may all someday be in the news when all your posts are printed for the media to get all in a tizzy over?

Good thing we don't know his real name and town, his posts cannot be used against him in a court of law.

OK, since someone mentioned Weiner, am I the only one that thought his name was appropriate? :hide

I've been cracking jokes about him for ages. I never realized how much of a joke he really was all on his own! Now they have evidence of him texting with teens. YIKES!!! What a WEINER!

***

Went to the farmer's market this morning and my favorite farmer was there. Unfortunately most of his produce was NOT. They had a lot of canned goods, but their usual veggies aren't in yet. Apparently the horrible wind we have been getting in the burbs is way worse out on the prairie and all of his stuff is way behind.

Prices were much better that this one than the last one we tried, but they were still higher than last year.

Large basket of peas was $4. Squash, 5 for $3. Small basket of jalapenos, $2. Kale, 2 bunches for $3. Green onions 75/bunch.

WAY better prices than the supermarket. Safeway had summer squash for $1.98/pound! That's nearing meat prices. CRAZY!!!

I noticed the ducklings having shaky legs when I was out checking on them. Time to get them some brewer's yeast. I put a few tablets in a bowl of water and I will fill it with veggies. This last growth spurt is hitting them hard so I figured they might need a boost. I am still feeding duck eggs to the quail to get their protein percentage up as well as having to get extra niacin to the ducks. It would be nice to actually get the nutrition from their feed, but I guess that is asking too much

Someday someone is going to offer organic waterfowl/gamebird feed for sale at a descent price and get my business forever. Until then I have to make do.

On the TO DO list today...
Make many quiches to use up the duck eggs and have handy food to take to work during the week. I think I am out of cheese though. Hmmm.
Go to Walmart and get cheese (ARG!)
Jar up the fermented cucumber salsa I made a few days ago (DONE)
Cut up the sticks and branches from when hubby trimmed the maples.
Weed and mulch under one of the maples (did the other one last week)
Finally clean out and mulch the last garden bed then plant amaranth
Laundry
Good thing I have my trusty iMac laptop so I can play episodes of BONES while I work :D

P.S. If anyone is interested in short season sweet potatoes, click on the link to my blog.

To do today:

demand Auntie visit soon.
finish hem on Death dress.
laundry.
clean the dang kitchen. OMG!!!
vacuum (post sewing disaster!!!)
DANCE!!! (5-7 woot!!!)
hand wash bras. I nearly forgot. I'm down to my last clean one.

Tomorrow I'm going to my mom's for zippers. She has about 70 for some reason. In return, I'll help her learn to use her camera. Maybe I can borrow it and show off my dresses? ;)

That's my weekend. Might get as far as cutting the blue dress out. Almost time to start on winter wear!!!

I danced. And did more sewing. Laundry is done... except for handwash...

Really, I just need to vacuum, do the kitchen, and return to sewing while I watch a movie and pick recipes that match it (Zaar World Tour game) :D

I didn't get the weeding and planting done so that goes on today's list. I did get that pile of wood out of the front yard so you can actually walk down the path and see the grass now. I was making good progress, but then Ed came home from work and all the rest of my plans were shot to hell. Oh well, I got hubby to BBQ chicken for us so I guess that's OK :D

I was giggling while big ole amazon me was out there with my mini-McCulloch electric chainsaw cutting up small logs and branches and hauling the logs to the wood pile in my red Radio Flyer wagon. When I haul hay, it is in my little "farm truck" aka a 1997 VW Golf Hatchback. I was contrasting my way of doing chores on my micro-farm with our warrior dwarf OFG and her big truck and big tools on her big farm while wielding her big axe.

It's just so freaking funny!!! :gig

That's alright wife, I saw a red mustang convertible with a hay bale sticking out the trunk and bungee corded while I was driving around Lex last month. It made me laugh. Do what you gotta do!
