I finally got a little sleep... more than 4-5 hours anyway. Had to take a lunesta sleeping pill to do it though! Traveling across 4 states plus my own home state in one day, wedding, and back the next day, baseball games, church, work, doctor appointments, work...... and then throw in the time change? Yeah, I was getting grumpy.
I have a reprieve from my friend from out of town who was supposed to come over tomorrow and spend the rest of the week with me - she is staying out at the beach and will just come spend Friday / Friday night with me. So I have a couple of days to clean and rest. Saturday I WILL WORK IN THE GARDEN. I need some dirt therapy!
In the meantime, chick therapy works pretty good:
My nephew loves the racing stripes - this one has the darker stripes
See Daddy's little EE Beard?
Barred Rock / EE x ?
I sooo want to keep this one. It'll end up a roo. HAHA
White EE = Roo?
The little runt.... smaller but just as fiesty as the others
aren't they the sweetest? The little runt has the prettiest markings on HER wings
I am totally spinning my wheels every direction I try to go this week. Between the exhaustion of the trip / weekend, and trying to get my hoarder house cleaned up for my friend to visit Friday I have totally neglected my chicken / horse / garden duties.
But I just about give up on cleaning my house. It is not nasty, just so cluttered.... couple of tote boxes in the living room, the table has tons of photos and frames, laundry baskets (of clean clothes ) along the wall, the stove never gets used so it is my "catch-all" when I come inside. Seriously. It'll never happen.
So I'll at least try to cover my potatoes today, and maybe move a couple of laundry baskets into my room at least. I am off work most of tomorrow so I will just have to buckle down and go full-bore cleaning. Boo.
I ran out of Buford's pain meds yesterday so he had a rough night last night = I had a rough night. Then I got up early, fed the big chickens, went to the gym and came home to start cleaning.
I printed out flylady's "crisis cleaning" list and have been going at it for a while. I can almost see a difference. The whole time I am scrambling around doing my 15 minutes of cleaning per room I am cursing myself and making sure I know if I had kept it clean to begin with I wouldn't be in this mess!
Stopped to run to the feedstore, chatted with the feedstore lady (she is so funny - talking about how people call and ask for her then ask her if it is supposed to rain next week, what kind of mulch to put on tomatoes, and her favorite - how long can they wait to plant the plants they bought at Walmart!). Now home to tend to the chicks (they are getting big - gonna have to drag out a 2nd tote) and have some lunch before flylady part 2.
Not only do I have to deal with goat envy with all the new babies here on the forum and OFG's new free milker.... I have to pass this every single time I leave my house or come home..... killing me
Would it help the goat envy if I told you that my goat caused me to dislocate my heel? And that I have been to the chiro twice and now I'm wearing a brace that doesn't fit in any of my shoes? If not...proceed with goat envy
I'm cleaning too. I have put off going through the stack of paperwork which is so old that I know it contains the kids' grade cards from 2 years ago. Yikes! (I don't put anything important in that pile )
Yesterday I did bathrooms and toy sorting.
