I had to leave before I showed Sally what they did to her horse while she was away. Thank goodness frees horse fixer elixir worked.

:yuckyuck :sick That just aint right!!! It is a chicken-horse!!

You know after eating nothing but carrots and air at my mom and dad's house for 4 days I could only wolf down one piece of pizza!! I was soooo mad! I was so looking forward to a big cheat meal. Oh well.

I gave the rest to the Russian Wolf aka my teenager to take to school for lunch.

Back to carrots and air again today...just kidding, I'll have some bacon and butter along with ginormous salads too.

Free you would be so proud of me. I brought my own airport snacks. Here is what I did to "avoid airport food and all the expense that goes along with it": We ate a decent breakfast at home, then I hard boiled and pre-peeled 4 eggs to bring along with us, loaded a ziplock full of cheese cubes, gathered two packets of taco sauce from Wendy's (in the airport) it is good on cheddar, two bananas, a bag of almonds, a bag of baby carrots, hunks of dark chocolate (not much) and a tangerine.

It was x-rayed by security unfortunately, but we had some decent food to eat during the 6 hour flight. And, if you ask the flight attendant, they will bring you a whole can of free water too. Water in a can? Who would of thunk!

One tiny rant: When they say "one carry on bag" why do people interpret that as bring on "3 giant bags and a purse"? What gives??

We traveled with a back pack each and it fit perfectly UNDER the seat...easy on easy off. :D

Yeah, that carry-on bit annoys the heck out of me. And you know if I brought that much on, they'd point to the little cube with the sign that says, "if your bag fits in here...."

Great job on the snacks! I used to get sick every time I flew anywhere.....like clockwork. But I also used to NOT take isotonic-capable supplements (which I now double when I travel as added insurance on the extra stress and the extra exposure to germs) and I used to treat myself to a big bag of peanut m&m's and a big bag of Doritoes for the flight! No wonder I ALWAYS got a virus on the plane!

Oh, Hi you guys!

Who cares about the mess? We are outside for heaven's sake! :p The fire is nice and hot...I've got on my coat and a wool blanket in my lap...LIFE IS GOOD!

I was so busy today I missed my nutrition class with free!! Sorry free!

Anyhoo, I mentioned earlier that I started 360 heirloom seeds yesterday and the day before. Well, today I started 72 more!! Now I'm making garden markers out of popsicle sticks and a magic marker...busy work.

I got two new red (plastic, but still pretty) adirondack chairs to put on my back deck. It needed some color. I moved my deck table and chairs to the front deck where it is nice and shaded. I will be able to stay cool out there when the heat comes. It will be a great place to play cards etc. (We don't have air conditioning, so we usually play in the shade on really hot days. There are about 4 per summer. :p)

My front yard has a nice tall hedge blocking my house from the dirt road. It is a very quiet dirt road, but I still enjoy the privacy.

Tomorrow I am going to buy a nice colorful umbrella for the outdoor table. My last umbrella got burned when there was a house fire in my old neighborhood back in Tejas. (There were fires all the time in that neighborhood b/c of the heat mixed with the oooold houses.)

Business has finally picked up and I earned a bit of breathing room (thank you ex husband, he is finally paying me back for his share of our daughter's medical bills) my plan is to spruce up this old house.

The ducks and chickens have found a hole in the yard fence and have been mixing with the horses. I spent 1/2 the day moving landscape timbers to make sure they won't go under the fence and get eaten by any predators.

While I was in the forest I found an owl pellet. (We have big white owls, they are so pretty!)

At the moment, I am making a big pot of baked (faux) potato soup with real bacon bits, leeks, onions, chives and topped with cheddar cheese and sour cream.

My little Russian Wolf made the "Cherry Clafouti" (sorta like a tart) recipe that Dace so graciously posted. You were right Dace, it was easy to make. It smells so good in the oven!!! We all could use a nice homemade dessert to end the beautiful weekend. :)
