Bee, your writing about the snow and the mountains, put me right back at my parents. I used to paint like that. You just feel the peace of that little bit of earth around you, when it is all just softly covered in newly fallen snow.
The quiet of absolutely nothing making a noise. Just the wind soflty rustling some long dried lieaves that are tenaciously clinging to their frozen twigs. The crunch of your own feet in the snow.
Have a good night.

I wish I had a camera and could show you what one of my 3 labs is doing right now! Tonka is such a baby, he is laying on his back on top of Chad like a newborn baby and snoring. 80 lb lap dog!!! I love my labs...our chocolate, Maggie is one of the best dogs we've ever had. They have enjoyed the inch of snow we got here too!

One of my dogs is a lab mix and our first dog was as well. Great dogs! I spent my afternoon at a Labs4Rescue adoption event, helping my son's teacher. What fun! I had to keep myself from getting to attached to any of them. She's trying to persuade me to become a foster home but I would have a really hard time with that.

I would have a hard time giving them up, for sure! Same way with fostering kids....that would be such a heart break to let them go home. :(

The yellow called Saffron was not the ideal color that it was on the paint chip sample when it was applied to my walls..... :sick We did a sample section of the wall and it looks like a school bus! :barnie

I had originally wanted a yellow called "buttery bread", so I will be going with that. Unfortunately, the green for the trim was also a disappointment. Why is it paint sample cards look so good in the store and look like total doodoo on one's wall? :hu

So...back to the drawing board(without the Crayola colors) and going for a softer hue, a soft glow this time. Let's hope I get it right, as paint is not so cheap anymore.

Anyhoo..... this year has just flown by, hasn't it? Anyone have New Year's plans? We usually just have good food and fun games, movies and conversation....sometimes we just go to bed! :p

YES! That is exactly what colors I got....some Mexican fiesta thing goin' on! :p NOT what I intended.....

It will all come together, I'm sure, but now I have 3 gal. of paint that I may or may not be able to use anywhere in my home. I'm thinking of donating them to the Christian's Assistance Network here in town...they would be cute colors for a kid's room or a daycare.

or mix them. If you got white and mixed in some of the color, you would get a paler color. You could even do some experimenting with smaller batches. try a 2 to 1 ratio or something like that. You might come out with something you like.

I tried it with the green but had no success. I'd be afraid to remix the yellow and try to get it consistent for both gallons, you know, to have enough to do two coats.

Of course, it could turn out real interesting and have a great textured look..... :p
