Oh my gosh Bee! Just catching up on your journal now...I am so sorry that happened to you! I will say this GO DIRECTLY TO YOUR CHYROPRACTOR! Seriously...I know how you're feeling...been there, 5 years ago had a horrific head on with two of my kids...and the next day it feels like you got run over by a mac truck! I was sore absolutely everywhere too...but chyros have this way of preventing soft tissue damage in the long haul.

It is very true that everything happens for a reason Bee. I truly believe there was a big reason fo rmine, and I won't get inot it right now but that accident changed the lives of my whoe family...the very next day we got a call from the military police to say that my oldest son had gotten himself in trouble yet again...and guess what...God had me in a postion that I couldn't run to him...anyway that was the beginning of a huge freedom for us...but it is too long a story...LOL!

Hpe you're feeling better soon Bee...are you walking around in shock right now wondering if you're really dead, but not quite sure? LOL that's what I did for about a week after. Shock I guess it was:>)

I know how you feel. Hubby wanted a truck and we needed something we could tow his trailer with but we could not afford 2 car payments. I made him wait, poor thing, until we got the balance down low enough that the used dealership paid off the title and rolled the balance into the new used suv. At least we still only have one payment. Now we have 2 vehicles we are trying to get rid of, I wish one of them could work for you but unless you want to drive a 93 ford ranger that needs engine work or a 72 VW superbeetle I can't help. :(

I hope you're not too sore today...just please go to the dr if you get to feeling too bad!

Morel and lori, thanks for your words of concern! Yes, I feel like I died and have awoken in the seventh circle of hell!!!

Not really, but I do feel like a herd of elephants decided I was a mouse and stomped it to death. I've been to chiropractors before for this type of injury and am sad to report that they made my soft tissue injury worse than it was and then tried to keep me coming back twice a week to keep it feeling bad! :p

What I need is Freemotion!!! ;) If you want a bone or joint worked on, maybe a chiropractor can help...if he/she doesn't do more damage to your tendons and muscles by using a sudden, forceful jerk to make it pop! To fix the original problem~ hypertonic muscles and tendons that have shortened to prevent injury and displaced vertebrae or facets thereof~ only a really good massage therapist can reset those muscles and manipulate that joint back into place in a gentle but effective way. I wish I could work on myself!!! :p

I'm trying not to mourn the car I had and am making plans to replace it, but its all up in the air for now. Until then, I have to drive my son's old beater.....a 1984 Toyota Supra Celica!!! I know, I know~its a classic! It also looks like the color of a roach, has rear wheel drive(crappy in the snow), no snow tires, and its been many a year since I drove a car that low to the ground!

AND, to top it all off, we are supposed to get another winter storm just like this week's by next Tues. If my 4x4 didn't make it to work, this little sled sure isn't! :( I don't think my boss will be too impressed with my dependability when I only made it to work one day, crashed my car, made it to work one day for the following week and then called to say the remaining car is in a ditch as well!

You can imagine that I'm in pain and a little cranky over the turn of events, even though I'm trying hard to focus in the positive things! :p  I was thinking, as I was sliding toward that embankment...."Oh, goody, this is when I get to die!!!" I was very disappointed to realize that I only wished I had died and it hadn't really happened! And I was soooooo ready to go! :)

Bee if I were you I would try to get a loan at a bank for the car and then buy it from an individual. You will still have a payment for sure, but you will be able to buy more car for the money.

Those car dealers charge a tremendous amount for holding your credit. Sure they make it easy to buy and show small interest, but they make up the difference by over charging for the vehicle. Also a slick dealer can "decorate" a poor car to look better than it is. There are laws to prevent this, of course, but they still get away with murder sometimes.

Borrow your top dollar and then shop (and bargain) hard with an individual. They can't get squat in trade in, so they are usually very likely to bargain. Take it to a mechanic (or bring one with you). Look the intended vehicle up on Kelly Blue Book on line - BEFORE you go - you can get all of the pertinent information for the search over the phone. With a copy of the Blue Book value in hand (including all options, mileage and conditions), calmly list any found problems and then talk turkey. You may be paying LOTS less than you think and then any leftover money from the loan can be immediately payed back to the bank, which will eliminate many of those payments right away! Plus those individual car sellers really appreciate a CASH sale, which is what it will be. Always bring a deposit and pay the cash the next day. (This gives you a chance to think with a clear head). Make any payments you HAVE TO HAVE go to the best and keep full coverage on it until it is payed off AND you have enough of a stash for a cheapy replacement in hand.

My hubby and I have made buying used vehicles a lifelong game. We can check out and work over a prospect in short order now.

Good luck!

When you come to think of it, massage is very SS, isn't it? Its more about resetting the tissues to allow for self healing! I can always tell someone's commitment to their recovery~if they go home and do what I told them to do to reset their muscles and rebuild muscle mass. AND if they go home and do what I told them NOT to do, to avoid injury. The problem with that is, this society is not used to working for their own health, they are used to a quick fix or a pill and are not usually into preventative care, are they?

Sad, really. :(

Many people come to me looking for another "pill," in that they expect me to fix them (tee-hee, that sounds funny!) and they just do nothing. Yeah, undo how many decades of using their body incorrectly and not taking care of it, in one hour on my table? I don't think so! They got an hour lecture with their massage!!! Since I started cutting back on my hours a few years ago, now I only have the regular clients who have standing appointments, mostly every other week, a handful of once-a-month-ers. It is so much less frustrating for me now!

I still go to my chiropractor and point to a body part and say, "Fix me!" Then laugh..... that is me on his treatment table...

eta: I am very fortunate to have an awesome chiro who always does neuromuscular therapy with the adjustments, and adjusts every joint in the body, not just the spine, and checks and rechecks and doesn't let you leave until everything is right!!!

Bee, I just wanted to say that I am sorry about your car and I hope and pray that you begin to feel better soon.
You always have a very special way of looking at the positive side in any situation......I know you will come to some comfortable solution on the car issue. :hugs

More bad news.....and the hits just keep on comin'! I sent my boy to the mechanic yesterday to get his heater fan motor replaced~without which I cannot keep my window defrosted~and it was supposed to have been fixed yesterday so I could go to work today.

The part didn't come in. :p Another day of work lost and egg on my face for being unable to make it to my new job and impress them with my dependability!

Then....I hear a new ice storm is breaking our way on Mon. or Tues., which means I need to buy a 4x4 this weekend, if possible, as I know "the roach" won't make it 31 miles on summer tires and rear wheel drive capabilities. I don't like rushing into vehicle purchases at all, especially if I'm going into debt to do so. :he

And this, ladies and gentlemen, was why I was striving so hard last year to learn a profession with which I could work from home and earn a living. If I could do that, icy roads and vehicles would be a moot point, as would trying to get to work on time.

I am praying...... :bow Praying for understanding and patience and a stillness of turmoil. Praying that I can shut my mind down and let God work this out, as it seems he is the master of its design. Praying to find that still point, that calm pool in my soul where I finally let go and float free. Free of worry about the outcome of tomorrow. Free to let things happen and know that I can't change the plan, no matter how hard I try. :fl
