Remember the old saying Bee. "Pain is LIFE" Today that is a very true statement for you.

Try a soak in some Epsom Salts - I don't understand why, but that stuff really works!

Then I have a little tune for you today as well.

"This is the day...
This is the day ....

That the Lord hath made ... That the Lord hath made ...

I will rejoice .... I will rejoice ....

And be glad in it .... And be glad in it!

This is the day that the Lord hath made,

I will rejoice and be glad in it!

This is the day...
This is the day ....
That the Lord hath made!"

We are having a slippery storm today, and I am cancelling everything and staying home, thanks to a reminder from you!!

Poor achy girl.....move gently today, no lifting until you know what the damage is. Ice your neck! Remember, it can reduce healing time for sprain/strain injuries by up to 75% if applied early and often....cban!

Preachin' to the choir, but as you know, health professionals can make the most non-compliant patients....so some reminders to keep you on the straight 'n' narrow.
:hugs

:hugs OMG Bee, I wasn't on line last night - I am so glad you are okay :clap

I know you already know that everything will work out according to God's plan. Something good is bound to be headed your way.

I can so relate about the tax refund - I wanted to do things with ours too and I have to send almost 1/2 to the morgage company and I have to fix the transmission in DHs truck so I doubt they'll be anything left for what I want :idunno

Okay first I miss a day and Pam has her baby, then I miss another day and you get in an accident...is this everyone's way of telling me to stay on the computer???

I am so glad you weren't seriously hurt honey! :hugs I agree with the epsom salts...don't know why they work but they sure do make the aches go away. Did you go to the hospital at all? The reason I say this is that my mom flipped our bass boat end over end and nearly drowned. She was alright but refused to go to the hospital. 2 days later the pain in her neck and back was so bad that we put her in the car and took her ourselves. Turns out she had 2 broken vertebrae in her neck. If you get to hurting too bad you call someone to come take you to the doctor, you hear?!?

PAM HAD HER BABY!!!! I COMPLETELY MISSED THAT!!!! :celebrate :ep :weee

Thank you all, each and every one, for your concern and kindness! I am going to lick this thing....some way or another! Still on the phone with garages and rental car agencies~can you believe they won't rent a car unless you have full coverage? Another reason to not just have liability, I guess! ;)

Now...I have to go read about Pam's baby!!! :)

Here is more than you ever wanted to know about Epsom salts and why they work. :p

Using Epsom Salts

Health Usage Tips:
For compresses: Use 2 cups of Epsom salt per gallon of water for sore muscles, bug bites, sun burn and splinter removal.

For soaking: Add two cups of Epsom salt to warm water in a standard-sized bathtub. Double the Epsom Salt for an oversized garden tub. Popular for easing muscle pain and fading bruises. Bathe three times weekly, soaking for at least 12 minutes.

Foot bath: Add a cup of Epsom Salt to a tub of warm water as a popular balm for aching feet.

Laxative: follow directions on package

Health Benefits:
Studies show these benefits from the major components of Epsom Salt:

Magnesium:
Ease stress and improves sleep and concentration
Help muscles and nerves function properly
Regulate activity of 325+ enzymes
Help prevent artery hardening and blood clots
Make insulin more effective
Reduce inflammation to relieve pain and muscle cramps
Improve oxygen use

Sulfates:
Flush toxins
Improve absorption of nutrients
Help form joint proteins, brain tissue and mucin proteins
Help prevent or ease migraine headaches

Why It Works:
Magnesium- the key component of Epsom Salt -- performs more functions in more systems of the human body than virtually any other mineral, including regulating the activity of more than 325 enzymes.

Studies show that magnesium is:
An electrolyte, helping to ensure proper muscle, nerve and enzyme function.

Critical to the proper use of calcium in cells.

An aid in helping to prevent heart disease and strokes by lowering blood pressure, protecting the elasticity of arteries, preventing blood clots and reducing the risk of sudden heart attack deaths.

Medical research also indicates that magnesium may:
Increase the effectiveness of insulin, helping to lower the risk or severity of diabetes.

Reduce inflammation and relieves pain, making it a beneficial in the treatment of sore muscles, bronchial asthma, migraine headaches and fibromyalgia.

Although magnesium can be absorbed through the digestive tract, many foods, drugs and medical conditions can interfere with the effectiveness of this deliver method. Therefore, soaking in an Epsom Salt bath is one of the most effective means of making the magnesium your body needs readily available.

Epsom Salt also delivers sulfates, which medical research indicates are needed for the formation of brain tissue, joint proteins and the mucin proteins that line the walls of the digestive tract. Studies show that sulfates also stimulate the pancreas to generate digestive enzymes and help to detoxify the body's residue of medicines and environmental contaminants. Studies indicate that sulfates are difficult to absorb from food, but are readily absorbed through the skin.

So you actually absorb enough magnesium through your skin to make a difference?

Wild!

Also it is good for adding to tomato sets when you plant them.:p

Well, folks, the bad news rolled in......sustained $8,000-$10,000 damage to my vehicle~that books for $5200 and I paid $3500 for!

I have weighed all my options and the area in which I live and my options are limited. The results of all this pondering? Against my better judgement, I am considering buying a used 4x4 from a car lot.....on payments! :sick That is, if I can even get the financing with my nonexistant credit rating.

From what I've learned today, it is definitely a buyer's market right now when it comes to cars and they are practically giving financing to any person who walks in on two legs, even if its a chicken! And zero down payment, blah, blah, blah! My mother thinks this will be a good chance for me to establish a payment history and improve my credit score. I think I feel the chains of debt rattling around my feet! :/ :(

It would be a way of buying a vehicle quickly while keeping the bulk of my income tax for some of my projects around here. I plan to put most of the income tax money in my savings and have my car payment automatically withdrawn from that account. I will double up on payments as money allows, to avoid some of the interest and, after a year of steady payments, I will pay it off. That's the plan, anyway. You know what they say about plans, don't you?

If you want to see God laugh, tell him your plans!

It makes me nervous to do it this way, but I'll try it for awhile and see how it goes. I just about have to have a 4x4 in this country and for my job, so my insurance will be sky high for full coverage on a sport's utility.

You might as well drag me over a bed of hot coals than what I am about to do........ :hit

Oh gosh Bee - I know exactly how you feel.

The funny thing is up until about 12 years ago I always had a car payment and high insurance. That was just so normal for me back then.
Then one day I saw the light. It has been years now and I like this no payment/low insurance thing. But with my current situation I would be in the same fix you are. Out looking for a vehicle.

I think I would go for the hot coals too. LOL

Yep, if I hadn't been in such dire straights on my income, I wouldn't have dropped full coverage insurance on my paid for car! That was a dumb thing for me to have done, for sure. :he

I may still decide to pay cash for a car and just take on full coverage, as I may chicken out on making payments! Everything inside of me smells a trap! :( I love, love, love the freedom of not having a monthly payment on a loan!
