How about running your 3 in with his herd for 60 to 90 days?
I would pick this option first, but pay for his bull to get vet checked for disease before you move the girls over.

Second choice, AI

No idea how you would keep a bull happy and contained with only 3 cows. I would avoid that choice.

Therapy this morning!

Then a doctor appointment so I can become a patient. Not even going to see the doctor, I’ll see a PA. But at least it will give me somebody to call if I get sick and they can treat me like I’m going to kill them all with my germs. Doctoring ain’t what it used to be. Hot fever? Can’t come in. What the H? Go home we don’t want you. Come back when you feel better. :he

Run through the grocery store, go to Lowes’s for more lumber, a clothes pile and brackets.

Today may by my last chance to replow the garden before it hardens up. I have spread fresh chicken poop all over the top, It will breakdown/cool off over winter and be just right in March.

AND I need to spread out the hay piles I put by the fruit trees and elderberry trees.
And its suppose to be 49 at noon, so I'll plan on working outside at noon and be done by 3/3:30 I want to top off the mowing in the yard and around the garden, the chickens will love that.

fp.gifOk, 5:54 more coffee, more wood on the fire,
Have a great and safe day!

This is what most reloaders say as well. It IS much cheaper per shot but....
I guess I got gunnies now too, where did they come from? 🤔 They sound like finger nails scratching on a chalkboard.

One of the neighbors. They can travel a pretty good distance. When my neighbors had some, they would go all over town. I would throw out scratch in the pasture so they would make it a stop on their way.
I don't think there is any truly "wild" ones around, although they all are pretty much wild
Supposed to be good dark meat. btw

They are also pretty alert, I was watching Jack bowling this morning. I don't think Jack likes their fingernails on chalkboard sounds much.

I worked at a dog kennel that used guineas as part of their tick control. We'd coop them at the end of the day - but few returned to the coop at night. So independent! I still want some, but they're expensive- and I haven't set up an extra brooder or coop area to accommodate another species.

So I got the community cattle trailer secured for Sunday afternoon, to go and pick out one of the two red bull yearlings. My neighbors are happy to have a new bull in the community and the potential for diversity within their herd's and quick finished steers.

Just so you know... I have not got to name a single head of cattle that has put hoof on our pasture. So I told my wife and granddaughters, I get to name this one. They chatted back and forth for a moment, then my wife said what will be his name? I said: Impregnator, Mr Impregnator.

Oh, they didn't like that name one little bit 😂. After the sour faces subsided, they got to chatting back and forth again. After a few minutes it was declared that I shall never be allowed to name cattle but I get to feed, water and care for them. 🤣❤️ I still have no idea what his name will be, maybe Powder Puff or something like that, we'll see 😂
