Hey DL! :hugs

No luck on the eclipse but got a fire going in the pit and had the camera on the tripod, just in case. ;) I guess the "hill" behind the camper blocked out the big event. Oh well, it's a nice evening...bright moon and a break from the wind (finally) so may bundle up and sit outside for a few when Doc gets home, if he feels like having a cigar. :hu

Did you guys get to see it?

There was only a little bit of it visible in this part of the country, at around 6:30ish am.
Hubby was in bed, but I went outside for a few minutes. It was way too cold and I couldn't see as much from outside as I had through the window (upstairs). So I watched a bit more through the window, before the moon hid in the woods.

DL,

Doc had a great time letting me know that I was behind schedule on the lunar eclipse! It's the thought that counts, right? :gig

He's settled into his new schedule well...me? Not so much! :gig

Yep, I laugh, but my hours are totally messed up right now and the daylight loosing time doesn't help! Oh, that should be daylight savings time! :barnie

We've had a lot of rain since November and I'm ready for a serious break! NWS hs our area listed as almost 13" in the past 30 days...where was this wet stuff when we needed it back in the late spring/summer? I know, I know...hopefully somewhere that needed it more than we did! :fl

The positive side of all the rain is that I've been marking our wet weather springs/seeps in hopes of being able to get an eventual well drilled. It still may be too much to hope for but not giving up on this option...yet!

All this rain (and snow twice already which added up to 1 and a half inches between both occurances well before Christmas) has put a major halt on outdoor projects here! But, the weather has been pretty nice when we do our weekly visits of civilization over at Moms, so it's not a bad thing. We've been taking Bubba (the dog) with us to Moms and he loves playing with her two dogs and mom lives about 10 minutes off of the main road so Bub really digs being able to be a dog without us worrying about him getting too close to the/a road! Mom has 30+ acres and a huge pond and Bub loves hitting the pond, no matter what the weather is like so we tease him about being a Labrador and not a true Australian Shepherd! :gig

I have found some of my pictures that are missing since we've been doing computer fixes and will get back to journaling from the past as of May 2010 later on today. After going through the pix, I really worried that I did nothing but take useless pix of insects, tadpoles, turtles, frogs/toads, flowers, snakes, spiders, wasps and mushrooms...pix from June 2010 let me know different! ;)

The rain is horrible, for once. We have the highest amount in one year ever here.

Alrighty...3rd time's a charm! :fl

May 2010 :

As I stated in my previous post, I was worried that we/I didn't accomplish anything this month except for me taking pix of the resident fauna. I was wrong, and here are a few pix to prove it!

Almost have the front wood/brush pile completely cut up and cleaned up:

Got most of the tomato and pepper seedlings set out in one of the raised beds:

A pic of the Arkansas Traveler 'mater plats that we bought from the feed store:

And now for some pix of our local residents:

One of our black snakes

A cool little spider

A wasp eating a caterpillar

Almost a frog

Some kind of crazy looking insect

The Red Baron

Yes, success! Kept having a problem earlier with Photobucket freezing up!

Stay tuned for June 2010! ;)

I only got to see a couple minutes of it then the clouds covered it up.
Good luck with the schedule. I've worked crazy hours plenty before. Use bright light when you need to wake up. Then the body knows it's supposed to get into gear. Use dim lighting- or even just nightlights, when your body needs to settle down.

If we had a way to get up there, we'd love to help you find good water. We did it at our old place.

:thumbsup Looks great!

Isn't that insect some variety of stink bug?
I don't think so. Stink bugs have a shield back. It's kind of hard to tell looking at that photo because it's a insect I'm not familiar with, but look at the back legs. They appear to be jumping legs, so I'm thinking something in the grasshopper family. (Orthoptera)
