Today was a pretty good day, in spite of it being a bit rough this morning. Hubby and I got up, ate breakfast, and did some stuff in the house. Then I ran out to the farm, fed the horses and came home. Wasn't home long when the calls from KN started.
KN: There's a fence down between 2 herds and I have the farrier coming in 45 minutes. (Translation, you should be here.)
ME: I just got home, I can't come out now.
KN: I'll do the best I can. (Translation, you should be here and do it.)
2nd call.
KN: You put the electric up in front of the gate from my field into CL's! (Translation, you didn't do a good job.)
ME: I had no handles to put up. (And, while I didn't say it, I had no help and she was the one that suggested I run the electric this way around the field.)
KN: Guess I'll have to see if I can find a way over there. (Translation, I shouldn't have to, you didn't do a good job.)
3rd call.
KN: Justice is chasing Timmy, and chased him thru a fence. They've both run off and we don't know where they are. (Translation, you need to get your butt out here.)
ME: I can't come out now.
I don't recall now what she said, but she wasn't happy. I did call her later and sure enough, they were able to get all the horses back in the field, and got the fence fixed-w/out me. I live 20 minutes away from the farm. I still cannot really run. There was not anything that I could have done even if I HAD gone out there. And they managed to get all the horses back B4 her farrier got there. She did not have to put in any fence posts, so she had it easy.
But, hubby and I worked on the coop today. We got most of it done! We have some corrugated roofing behind the woodshed. But, we couldn't get to it. There's a fence a few feet behind the shed, and it was smothered w/honeysuckle. There was also some Virginia creeper, multiflora rose and a little bit of poison ivy over there. So, I got my pruners out and got busy. It took me awhile to find a spot I could really start to work. But, finally found an in. The goats are happy. I gave them the majority of the honeysuckle that I cut out. And, I got the fence cleared enough so we can get to the roofing!
Once I was done w/that, I went and worked in my garden a bit more. I have 1 very small section left to work on. It's about 2' x 8'. By this time next wee, unless something happens to me, I should have my garden all ready for planting!
I also got some of the leaves out of my pond. I wasn't seeing any fish, and was hoping they hadn't all died on me. I'm busy getting the leaves out, hear something rustling in the leaves, look up and see a garter snake. It decided the pond was not a good place to be right then.
Once I'm done w/the garden, I'll be able to work in the yard! My goal is to get it all cleaned, and get rid of all the junk that's in it. I'm determined to get rid of all the junk we have, both inside and outside.
Oh, and I did put the nuggets out again today. They love it.
While we didn't get the coop done completely, we got it done enough to take it out to the farm! We're hoping that one night this week we'll be able to finish it. Both DH and I prefer to be there when no one else is.
Only problem I had today, I couldn't find Rerun. She was nowhere to be seen when I got there this morning. That's unusual. I expected to see her when we got out. Well, CL was still there-w/all her dogs. So, I don't know if she was hiding someplace or what. CL left B4 I did, and I called her when I was ready to leave, but saw no sign of her.
