It looks like we're back to winter. Today's high is only supposed to be in the 30s, and by Friday, they're calling for a high in the 20s! I want spring.

I overslept this morning. I've come to the conclusion that I just DON'T like getting up at 5:00. 6:00, or even 6:30 is good. And hubby also overslept. So that meant he was late leaving so he was yelling at me. It's not my fault he didn't set his alarm.

Today, I'm not sure what all I'll be doing out at the farm. Part of it is going to depend on LF's horse. If he's still having problems, I may have to help her. Her health is not the greatest, and he's a big horse (Belgian draft). Since it's a work day, I don't know that anyone else will be able to give her a hand, especially if RU has to babysit her GDs. I have a tentative schedule for today:

1. Work on basement (done, may do more later)
2. Practice piano
3. Clean living room
4. Go to feed store
5. Feed animals and put out hay
6. Clean field
7. Work on grooming horses-they're all a muddy mess
8. Feed Stormy, bag feed and take care of chickens
9. Feed goats
10. Work on wood
11. Make and eat dinner
12. Dishes
13. Make some phone calls

How he's doing better today. Big horses don't usually colic or founder as easily as small ones but they still do.
Ugh. I already hear the wind which means it's cold! I don't want to get out of bed! Soooooo tired of cold! 55 yesterday was such a tease!

He's still not doing good. She was up all night w/him. The vet was out again and tubed him. He doesn't act like he's in pain, and is in good spirits. But, he hasn't pooped. RU hooked up her trailer, and they took him for a ride. Sometimes the vibrations will get things moving. No such luck. So, they've taken him to New Bolton for the night. They're going to have him hooked up on an IV overnight. If this doesn't work, she'll probably put him down. So, if anyone can pray for him, it would be appreciated.

Didn't quite get done everything on my list. I didn't get all of the living room done and I didn't make my phone calls. For the horses, instead of giving them a good grooming, I just took a brush and brushed off the worst of the dirt. They'll stand for that, so I didn't have to tie them.

Got the wood holder in the basement all filled. If we don't get more snow this week, I'm hoping to get another load of wood on Friday. If not, I'll have to use some of the wood from my wood shed. I don't want to since I'm trying to fill it up, but I may not have a choice.

I haven't heard anything. I'm hoping for some news when I get out there.

I don't feel like doing anything, but I have to. Over slept again and hubby got mad. There is no reason why I should have to get up at this time. I choose to get up, but if he keeps acting like this, I just might not choose to any longer. And once again, I have a busy day planned.

1. Do dishes (I never got to the last night cuz he was in my way in the kitchen)
2. Practice piano
3. Clean bathroom
4. Finish cleaning living room
5. Feed animals and put out hay
6. Clean field
7. Brush horses about like I did yesterday
8. Feed Stormy, bag feed and take care of the chickens
9. Go to my appointments
10. Go to Wally World
11. Feed goats
12. Make and eat dinner
13. Dishes

He could have said hi to my friend's horse, though I think they were going to let her come home yesterday. I haven't heard though. I hope he made it. My friend couldn't afford surgery either and so they just wanted it out and it seems she's ok.
Hope you get everything done today!

I hope your friends horse pulls through. I just adore Belgian's and have always wanted a pair.

Didn't get the living room done and I'm not doing the dishes tonight. There's not that many and hubby is driving me nuts.

LF's horse didn't make it. I don't know exactly how they're able to do it, but they inserted needles into the small intestines. And when they drew them out, they were filled w/blood, which meant that there was a major obstruction. There was nothing they could do for him. Lf felt so guilty. He didn't act like he was in any obvious pain. He was alert and very calm. She had to leave. She couldn't be there while they did it. I feel so bad for her. I know what she's going thru. I've been there.

Haven't talked to her yet, so I don't know how she's handling it.

I went to bed early last night, and am STILL tired. I think a lot of it is this weather. I'm so tired of the cold. I want spring. But instead, we're supposed to get into the single digits Friday morning! I think it's really messing w/my chickens. They start to lay and we get another cold snap, so they either quit, or slow down. I'm hoping that is weekend will see the last of the really cold weather. But, at least I'm still good on hay. Started a new RB yesterday and still have 5 more as well as several sbs. The RBs last from 8-10 days minimum w/the temps we've been getting, so I have at least 47 more days B4 they run out, then have over a month worth of sbs.

Today promises to be another busy day. I'm hoping to get to bed early. My list for today is:

1. Wash shirts (they're in the washer and will probably go in the dryer)
2. Put out trash and recyclable
3. Clean kitchen
4. Rearrange one section of the kitchen and wash the walls there
5. Go to bank and gas station
6. Feed animals, put out hay
7. Choir practice
8. Feed Stormy bag feed and take care of chickens
9. Practice piano
10. Practice clarinet
11. Feed goats
12. Work on wood
13. Make and eat dinner
14. Dishes

We have a ton of left over pork that hubby smoked over the weekend. I'm thinking of making some potato salad. That would make dinner easy for tonight.
