I am so excited about getting it. I may have to go out and buy stuff, just so I can try it out.

I am just hanging out at DD's today. I am feeling tired and lazy. Her roommate said he'd change the tires on my car today. DD is donating her old car and it has fairly new tires on it. the tires on my car are about 8 years old and definitely need to be replaced. We have the same model car, so we firgured might as well put the better tires on my car.
Actually I am keeping her cats company, they are loving it. :)

Well if you are serious about buying some stuff to can up, jump in at the deep end!

I would check out some of those sale turkeys. Cut them up and can away. Nothing is quiet so nice as a can of ready to use meat for making a quick casserole or stew on those rushed days. ;)

That's a great idea. FIL often brings us a turkey or two for the holidays. And there are usually plenty of sales too.

DD has been decorating her house for christmas. She is so creative. She has been hand tying bows and put them on the door frames, hanging jingle bells from the corners and now she and her hubby are putting the lights in the window. With 4 cats in the house, I do wonder how long it all will stay up :p  The cats have been paying close attention

SO and I went to lock the chickens up tonight and we are missing Susie. She is a tiny frazzled black hen. The one that lost all all feathers twice this year. We are hoping she is just hiding somewhere. It was raining hard out and we decided to bring the dog in this afternoon. I am afraid a hawk may have got here :(

SO and I decided that we should decorate for christmas. So we started cleaning up an area to put a bunch of greens and decorations. Since we decided that we would do without a tree this year. There are some nice pine trees out back and we'll just cut some branches. I'll put them in a large crock and decorate them.
He also wants to bake cookies.

We packaged up the meat FIL brought over a couple of days ago. I decided I was too tired to try my new pressure cooker after cleaning house and doing laundry.
We are just going to take it easy the rest of the evening.

Last night I went through the photos I took, when visiting the folks and picked out 4 nice ones of their two cats and had a mug made with the pictures on it, and copies of other nice photos, mostly their cats to send to them for christmas.

I am ready for some relaxing time; "waiter a hot cocoa please" :D

:weee

Susie is still with us :weee We don't know where she spent the night, but she was out in the corn stalks this morning. I am soo happy. She is kinda special to us, because we have spent so much time caring for her, each time she lost her feathers. She is also one of our own hatches and a good momma hen.
We fed her before we let the rest of the chickens out. She ate for a solid 15 minutes. That little girl was HUNGRY! I suspect something scared her into hiding around 4 o'clock and she stayed there for the night. I am just glad she is safe and sound.

We got lots of rain yesterday and now we have our usual pond in the back. The decoys are floating. SO is hoping a duck or goose will land. ;)

It was so prety out this morning with bits of blue sky and dark clouds. Everything is clean and sparkly. I took a few photos

That pic of the kitty cracked me up. Is that might be a new style of bird hunting? Glad your hen is safe again.

That's good news about you getting a doc. It's reassuring to have one available. If you go by Murphy's Law- you'll be healthy for a long time now.

Looks like the SO had a wake up call. Hope he really does appreciate you. You deserve to be happy.

I already canned 4 times as much as last year and that was with my my water bath canner. I'm sure the pressure canner will get plenty of use.

Yeah, little Petey is a stinker. He's always getting into something. He's smart too. Probably because he was a bottle baby and raised by humans and not a cat ;)

Thanks for the good wishes.
