Yeah, so much for the peace and quiet of the country right?
It doesnt exist believe me! We have cows, tractors, chickens, and dogs. Then city people have planes, people, cars, and trucks. We just make a different sound :p

I'm going to have to stick my fingers in my ears! Bad weather? I don't want to hear it! Um, well, we've got warm temps and rain. Heard about the bad tornados yesterday in the midwest. Are you guys still warm today? I can't believe you were in shorts yesterday!

Runs off to check wunderground. Not sure why though because our weather reports are always wrong. Maybe I'll just look out the window :hu

Here are some quotes that I like that I wanted to remember from vacation that we found. Anyone else like quotes?

You cannot depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus. -Twain

High heels were invented by a woman who had been kissed on the forehead. -Morley

Of several ways to make a living by the pen, perhaps the surest way is to raise pigs in it. -Old Proverb

I walk slowly, but I never walk backward. -Lincoln

It is when we all play safe that we create a world of utmost insecurity. -Hammarskjold.

It's been a pretty quiet week. I still haven't followed through on my New Year's resolution to use fly-lady to keep my cleaning up to date. Haven't even shined my sink yet . It's been pretty quiet around our place as far as SS stuff. Mostly kitchen/cooking. I've got a batch of kraut going in my new crock. Been faithful about planning menus in advance and planning shopping trips. So far we've been holding to eating 2-3 servings of veggies with each meal. We'd let that slide a bit last year.

I'm starting a Beth Moore bible study this Wed. which I'm really excited about. Haven't been to church regularly in years due to many reasons/excuses. The fellowship should be invigorating.

We're meeting with our realtor this Thursday to review where we are with everything and if there is anything else she recommends before actually listing and going over the timing of everything. Mentally, we've already moved. It's just a matter of waiting and making it reality. It's odd feeling like we're just hanging out here rather than living. It is a good feeling knowing that we're headed in a new direction.

My application is in for college so now I just wait to hear on admittance. Financial aid should be taken care of by mid-Feb. after the w-2's come in. Later today I'm starting my self-imposed review of calculus, and starting to learn JAVA.

This made my garden planning pretty simple this year! Spinach, lettuce, carrots, peas, cabbage, broccoli. Even though I was tempted, I didn't even order seeds from any of the magazines. I'll just go down to the local garden center and pick up from whatever they've got in stock.

Walking the dogs in the snow this morning made me want to write poetry in my head. Didn't get it all down but one phrase stuck out...

unmanufactured silence.

You have a lot on your plate....starting school and moving are biggies!

I just started fly lady on Monday. I even signed up for the emails, which are many! But I need the help and the daily motivation. :/

Where are you moving to?

Hey Dace! Well, I am glad to report that so far, I've done baby step 1: shine that sink. But I haven't managed to keep the dishes out of it! Oh well, nice for one day!

Moving to Urbana, IL going to Univ. of IL at Urbana/Champaign. It's only about a 4 or so hour drive from here so it shouldn't be too bad. Just us and the two dogs. We attempted this last fall but the debt burden was still a wee bit to big and the house didn't sell. This time, I'm pretty sure we'll make it outta here!

You know you can sign up for the condensed fly lady right? Then it's just one big long huge one but doesn't clutter the inbox.

Well, I'm bummed. Bible Study was cancelled due to the weather tonight. I was really looking forward to starting that. Oh well, next week.

Came home to find the light at the end of the driveway was replaced, bathroom vanity fixture was swapped out, closet doors were up and functioning and the ugly light above the sink was getting an overhaul!!!

About the time we move on, this old wreck of a place will be so pretty!
