In High School she used to drive me nuts, because she would have the TV on while doing homework. When she explained to me that she could concentrate better on her math
That sure describes me. I used to watch tv and do my college physics homework. Drove my boyfriend up the wall. He had to have total quiet. It REALLY made him mad when I got A's and he got C's. :p

Did you tell her, "Oh, that's easy"? LOL as I add another row to my knitted to my afghan, type/read the computer and listen to Spiderman (the movie) with my son.

If only I could knit with my toes, while I turn the pages of my book. Wait!! I'll just take off the bifocals, get DH to build me floor stand for my book, learn to turn pages with my toes......
DS had a good day. His teacher went home because of her basement issues. He got to check in with the school pysc. and earned some time playing a computer game. He was calm and confident at home. Don't know what the deal was the past few days. I swear it's the atmosphere in that room that sets him off.

And on a completely different note, today I wore a pair of pants I haven't been able to wear in more than a year and I chop about 2 inches of hair off. Wheeeeeeeeeee!
It's tough working in the school system and having people ask what's up. Everyone has an opinion. Gets overwhelming.
I can't remember if I mentioned in yesterday's mess that I brought the registration papers to the Catholic school yesterday. It's official; he's going. Not sure when the right time to tell his current school is. They'll know when they get the release of records paper. I know I'm under no obligation to tell them anything. They will have DS there for the rest of the year and can't treat him any differently as if he's soon to be someone else's problem. But I worry. His teacher made a comment to my mother about wanting to get things calmed down now, "because you know how those third grade classes are." Well, if that's not an endorsement for getting him out of there I don't know what is!

TOOOO funny!! I picked up DS at school because he had an orthodonist appointment. I didn't think he'd remembered not to get on the bus so I went to the room to get him. It was complete chaos as kids frantically gathered their things. DS looked completely overwhelmed by the commotion and just stood there. Anyway, the funny part, DS's teacher had finished the ADD/ADHD checklist finally and handed it back to me. When I got home I took a look. Nothing shocking or untrue. BUT the first item says, "Makes careless mistakes, misses details, blah, blah, blah... on school work or home work." SHE MISSED THE QUESTION!!!!  Didn't answer that one at all. Struck me as funny.
I was mobbed when I walked in the door of the classroom. I sent in 75 pieces of "sushi" for DS's birthday. I felt bad for the other birthday kid whose mother just made cupcakes.... I can just see them all going home to tell their parents that DS brought sushi for them all. Phone calls begin, "You fed my kid raw fish???????" Me: "No, sir or ma'am, I fed him/her worms!" :D DS built them up all week that he was bringing sushi. Didn't let it leak that it was rice krispie treats, gummy worms and fruit leather until this morning.

Man, I blew it! I was just looking for images and found one of "sushi" made with Swedish Fish candies! One candy fish, laid on a little bed of "rice" wrapped in a fruit roll up. Cute! Maybe for Easter dessert...

I have one pea sprouted!!! I'm so excited it's silly. These are Tom Thumb peas that I planted in pots on my deck. As soon as I planted them it got really cold then we had this week's flooding rains. Now the sun is out and it is supposed to be in the high 70s and 80s all weekend. I feel like I could sit there and watch these things pop out of the ground!
My garlic is growing and greening up nicely after having its straw blanket removed. That's as far as I've gotten with the gardening. I reeeeaaaaally need to get my seeds going in the basement and get some greens started.
Aaaaaaaaaaah!
