How's this for stress? This is my supervisor's desk. I am expected to do my computer work at this desk. None of that stuff is mine. Every flat surface in the room looks like this. If I clean "my" table off she puts stuff on it. She is the nicest person and I really do like her but I find this very stressful. Sometimes the mouse is buried. The desk in the other school is almost as bad. She makes a little more of an effort there because the bilingual therapist that shares the space with us is physically challenged. And the principal is more likely to wander in....

Now, I am no neat freak and my home office space gets very cluttered, but I do not understand how such a caring person as this woman can share a space and let it get like this. It never changes.

She needs this book: How to Get Organized Without Resorting to Arson by Liz Franklin. I bet she is a visual and/or spatial organizer....needs to see everything, and also sorts by color. I can see the organization on the desk, because my mind works this way, too. Unfortunately, the stacks can fall over and that is the end of that! Disaster!

I found that book to be enormously helpful, when I apply the techniques. :p It also helped me understand that I cannot be organized the way another person is organized....if I try to organize like a linear person would, everything gets lost and nothing gets finished. Using the computer or a palm doesn't work for me...I need to see my calender all laid out.

If someone moves something a foot to the left or right of where I put it, I can't see it (spatial.) I think that is where the word "spacy" came from!

I think you nailed it! I think I am a lot like this too, but of course, her system isn't my system so this doesn't work.

My right eye lid has been twitching all week!
Free, I forgot to mention that the supervisor frequently can't find things she is looking for unfortunately but I get what you mean with my own "system".

Soooooo, here is the allergy list for DS:
wheat, corn, rye, barley, rice, soy, sesame seeds, peanuts, pecans, walnuts, and milk. He is also allergic to 97 trees, a number of common weeds, and mold.
I'm choosing to look at it from the perspective of what he can eat. Now I just have to merge what he can eat with what he will eat and we'll have a plan.

He isn't allergic to almonds. That leaves a LOT of options.

Almond Breeze "milk" is very tasty. Almond meal pancakes are delicious. My recipe uses ricotta cheese, but you can make it without. Ever try cocoa roasted almonds? Drool!!!

Macadamia nut butter is a good replacement for peanut butter....and it is healthier too. Peanut butter is way high in omega 6 fatty acids - causes inflammation.

Is he just allergic to cows milk? If so that still leaves goat's milk and cheese from sheep's milk.

I hope he likes meat and vegetables :D

He's been drinking Almond milk since the elimination diet started so that was a relief to hear. No rice flour will be a little tough but we'll figure it out. I just tried Diamonds Mint Cocoa almonds. They're sweetened with stevia according to the package but not according to their website. BUT I won't be buying anything packaged anymore. I'll be making my own!
He will eat a little almond butter. We haven't tried macadamia. He hated cashew.
He does like meat and some vegetables. The trick is finding what I can send in for lunch. He has no way to heat food once there and his thermos doesn't keep things warm enough for his liking. There are a few raw veggies he likes so we've been sticking with those for now. I'm hoping once he's feeling even better he'll be willing to try more things and we'll find more he likes.
I didn't get a chance to ask about goat's milk. I may try it eventually and see how he does.
She did agree that we can do testing on me as well. I want confirmation about dairy for myself so I can make an informed choice when I refuse to give it up!! ;) I'm miserable without it.

Crispy almond pie crust... :drool

Good that you have a definitive list to work from now. I hope you succeed in giving him a wide variety of foods he likes.

That desk made MY desk look clean... And made me want to clean it :p
