:D Our hope is that DS will be even stronger and healthier once he is eating right. He wasn't tested for millet but he was for quinoa and amaranth and can have both of those. Once he's been off the known problem foods we can try other things slowly, one at a time. I suppose if he still has issues there may need to be further testing? Don't know.

I sent the principal of DS's school a letter this morning letting her know we are sending him elsewhere next year. She just emailed me to say while she is sorry to see him go, she completely understands and will make sure that everything is done that is necessary to give him a successful end to his year. Phew! If the teacher gets all wonky at least I feel I can go to the principal with my concerns and feel that she will stand up for his rights.
I barely remembered to uncover my deck containers before heading out. We had a frost last night. I kept my pepper plants inside because it isn't supposed to get out of the 50s today, and the 40s tomorrow. They just can't handle it. They are on top of my fridge because my silly cats nibbled the leaves! Poblano peppers! Weird little animals....

DS had another pretty good day. He did not get 2 "threes" on his behavior checksheet but the teacher herself admitted that she has raised the bar. She doesn't see consistency as necessary in the life of an 8 yo child apparently. He had a little bit of work that he didn't finish in class. She sent it home and he had it done in about 3 minutes before his baseball game.
Within an hour of the principal reading my letter and emailing me the news reached DS's classroom. My mom was subbing and not one but both of the aides from that room approached her asking for more info. about us sending DS to the Catholic school next year. One, who we know doesn't like the teacher, confirmed our thoughts that the teacher gives huge packets of worksheets for the kids to do independently then gets on her computer while they're supposed to work. The aide says there's a few kids that can't stay in their seats so they'll get up and wander around, lose focus, etc. and the teacher is so involved in her thing that she doesn't do anything to redirect them! Then at the end of the day when their work isn't done she blows her top! Not fair!
I asked mom if his teacher said anything about the change in schools and apparently she thinks it will be a good idea for him.
Now, her own son, who is in DH's photography class, landed himself in some hot water today. Seems DH was in the dark room with a couple of kids and the rest of the class was in the classroom supposedly working on some assignments. DH came out to find a kid holding paper towels to his bleeding head. He didn't want to say what happened. Finally one student told him that DS's teacher's son had jabbed this other kid in the head with a pencil, causing bleeding!!!! OMG! So DH persuades the bleeding student to go to the nurse and gets the other kid to the office to write him up. Yeesh!

24 after today.
Rough day, relatively speaking. Woke up to the news that the education budget failed to pass by a meer 19 votes. Meaning more cuts. All the more reasont to move DS to the new school but also the nagging worry that there's always at least a slim chance that they'll go after more support service positions. if they try to cut sports all the parents who didn't bother to vote will squawk. Music is more likely. We lost weekly art classes in the elementary schools last year. So sad for our students!
I don't feel well at all. I have a headache behind my eyes and a slightly queasy tummy.
Missed my haircut appt. yesterday. I hate it when I do that.
I have a dentist appt. this afternoon.
None of my pants fit.
I want to go home.

I'm guessing they're too big - and I want that problem!
That would be the problem! I have some that I saved from when I lost weight before but they're still too small. I don't seem to have anything in the mid range I'm in now. I need a few things to get me throught the school year. I'm always tugging them up and it's getting embarassing!

A seamstress can fix a couple of pairs for you quickly and fairly cheaply.... Bring a few of your favorite pairs in and tell her you want two done as cheaply as possible as you are still losing weight. She can look at how they are constructed and pick two pairs that will be the quickest fix.

Or get a couple of elastic waist or wrap around skirts!
