A seamstress can fix a couple of pairs for you quickly and fairly cheaply.... Bring a few of your favorite pairs in and tell her you want two done as cheaply as possible as you are still losing weight. She can look at how they are constructed and pick two pairs that will be the quickest fix.

Or get a couple of elastic waist or wrap around skirts!
I have a few skirts that work well but I do spend some of my day on the floor with students. DH just emailed that he doesn't have band rehearsal tonight so I will be able to shop for a few things locally to get me by. Nice long elastic waist skirts would be great for the warm days at the end of the year.
24 to go!
I've been waiting all day for a lockdown drill that never happened. :barnie

The last few weeks are always toughest! Hang in there - next year is bound to be better!

Wow, I was just out of sorts all day. There are a couple of bugs going around. I wonder if I am fighting one? Don't feel horrible, just don't feel right.
Tomorrow is an early day. Blech. But once Thursday is over, it's Friday and then the weekend!
DS had another decent day. Probably would have been a top mark day but teacher has admittedly upped the anty and is requiring more of him. Funny thing. She complained that he was up out of his seat moving around. Well, duh, do you think there might be a reason for that???
I have a loaf of GF bread in the oven. It's a mix from Breads from Anna. It has none of the foods DS is allergic too. It smells really good baking. I hope he likes it. I ordered several of their mixes online. Shipping was $10 for three mixes. Yikes! But I discovered they're based in Iowa City, which is where my SIL lives. I emailed her and asked if she would check prices out there. If she picks them up the Fareway store and ships them I might save a little$. I don't need a ton of mix type stuff. It would just be helpful to get us through this school year and baseball season.
DS confessed to throwing away part of his lunch and giving away something else. :/
Bread is done. Not bad. We'll see if he'll eat it in the morning!
Teacher's son was back in DH's class as if nothing happened yesterday. She emailed DH that her son skipped his meds yesterday which may explain why he's still in school.

So DS has now confessed to throwing away food items he doesn't want to eat. Grrrrr. I had praised him earlier in the week for eating all of his healthy foods. Not so!
Yesterday he gave away all his watermelon chunks to his friends.
I emailed the teacher to back me up that I send in healthy food for him to eat, not his friends. I don't trust her to notice if he trades for foods he can't eat. I cc'd the principal. I know this isn't an easy change for DS. I've gotten him involved from shopping to choosing and preparing foods for his lunches. I don't know what else I can do!

He may need direct supervision during lunch for now.... :(
I can guarantee that will be a battle. Hmmm, how to even approach that one:
Me- "I'm pulling my son out of the system. Could you please have someone watch him during lunch and see that he eats?"
The lunch room staff are not known for being cooperative. Last year I had to report that one of them swatted DS on the bottom for standing up while eating. :somad
Probably not the best approach.
I think I will email the nurse who has been very helpful and ask her for any suggestions.

Temporary solution for today... my mom is subbing and I happened to be talking to her on the phone right before 2nd grade lunch. SHe had a break so she went to encourage him. He ate a half a sandwich made on what is easiest to call Allergen Free bread. He happily ate the whole thing. I wasn't sure how bread made with bean flours would go over but he liked it. Of course he hasn't had bread in almost a week and misses it! Mom could only stay a few minutes but she encouraged him to eat his banana too.

The whole school system is insane and the people who want to change it, who buck the system for the real good of the children are usually ignored or worse. It stinks! :smack

It's great that your mom subs and can lend a hand for you.

Was that one of the Anna mixes you talked about? Which one, if you don't mind :)
