:hugs You guys are the best!
I dropped DS off at before school care this morning only to find they were making waffles with strawberries and "whipped cream". The director, who spends a half hour a day with my kid came right up to me to ask if DS could have anything. I said he could have the strawberried but unfortunately doesn't like them. He felt awful! We decided that I will bring sorghum waffles from home tomorrow with real maple syrup and he will get some watermelons. Nice to know, that even though he didn't think of it in advance he at least checked and felt bad. DS was fine with it. He'd had a huge plate of scrambled eggs and some watermelon at home and wasn't the least bit hungry.
Now breakfast is being served in the library next to me. I am going to see if there's anything I can eat!

Yet another reason I want to homeschool....the whole food issue. I can't believe what they feed kids nowadays for breakfast and lunch at school. :sick

It'll be okay, you're a good mama, that teacher needs a good swift kick in the butt! :hugs

5 more hours, just 5 more hours. Poor kid had a crappy day. They had "move up" day which just drove home to him that he's leaving this school and he's not quite rejoicing about it like I am. His best friend, asthmatic with serious food allergies, was at the hospital for tests today, something he does once a month or so. So DS was sad about that too.
My mom was subbing for the PE teacher and wanted to ask about treats for tomorrow. She popped her head in the classroom and all but got her head bitten off by the teacher for no reason, before she even asked the question. (Guess the teacher was witchy to pretty much everyone today. I can imagine she's way behind on end of the year stuff since she was out for 13 days...)
So Mom checked in with the nurse who promptly marched down there and asked. She came back to the gym only to tell my mother she couldn't get a straight answer, just that they might have watermelon or they might have popsicles. Great, not helpful. So I sent an email to the teacher, the nurse and the principal stating that he is NOT to have a popsicle other than the all fruit one my mother will be bringing with her when she goes to the year end assembly. In the afternoon I will compose a letter to the principal stating my concerns about this teacher and other reasons we are pulling him out.
So on the bus on the way home DS decides to spit in another kid's face. No reason, he just felt like it. :barnie He had a time out and wrote apology letters to both the other boy and his bus driver. Think he might be a little stressed??

Crazy day!!! I bet it all started with his teacher and her attitude. I can imagine how unorganized and stressed she is. I am sure you ds is not the only child who had a bad day.

Is tomorrow your last day of school? It is for us. I think I am going to make Thursday pj day at our house!!

Feel better.

Yes, tomorrow is it! I didn't even vent about MY frustrating day My supervisor's disorganization made me nuts. I actually came close to snapping at her once, "But it's your system, not mine and I can't read your mind!!!" She laughed it off but was so wrapped up in her own issues that she really was no help. Then at 1:30 she jumped up and said she had a doctor's appt. and ran out the door. I am assuming that we are at the HS tomorrow even though we're scheduled to be at the elementary school. All I know is that I'm turning in my key and name tag at 1:00 and going to get my son off the bus.
Milked Donki with DH not even home! Went fine. I sat and talked with her after I thought I was done then milked a bit more and she overflowed the quart jar for the first time!!!
DH's band rehearsal was canceled so I am making yogurt and jam and cheese.... yeah, I have the energy for that!
DH was just on the Hartford CBS news station. He has organized a hovercraft race on the CT River for this Saturday as part of a larger event. He and his students were interviewed and they flew the craft they built. Very cool!

Light bulb moment: DS didn't eat much of his lunch today because his stomach hurt. Hmmmmmm, coughing up phlegm all morning and a tummy ache. Yup, I'd call that a reaction to something he ate! :somad

That nut job needs to be fired
For many reasons. Unfortunately it won't happen. And I always have the chance that I will be transfered to that school at some point. Wouldn't that be fun?
So the principal responded to my request that DS not be allowed treats other than those I provide tomorrow. At first she only mentioned the trouble on the bus and his sadness over leaving the school. I responded back and mentioned that he hadn't been feeling well, likely because of choosing to eat an unsafe popsicle. She jumped all over that! I gave her his side as he described it to me. I smell follow through. Somebody is going to be really cranky tomorrow and she'd better not take it out on my kid.
The other good thing: her youngest is done at DH's school as of Friday and she can't make trouble for him there out of revenge.

My claim to fame is 9 jelly jars of strawberry jam cooling on my counter. They've all pinged. I also made a batch of sorghum waffles for DS to take to before school care in the morning. They made waffles this morning and are again tomorrow. Now he can enjoy one too. With fresh homemade strawberry jam or home made maple syrup. Such a choice to have to make!!
