So glad to hear FIL is home. Is MIL going to be able to care for him? Will he need constant care for a few days/weeks? Are they members in a local church? Maybe someone could mention in the church, ( if they are members) that they might need "welfare checks" once in a while....to help ease the load for you all. Just haveing him home is a big step...but what sort of care will he still need? I will say an extra prayer for your family, ( inlaws too) that everything calms down soon. :hugs

Apparently not. She is in a state of near panic today because SIL is flying home tomorrow. SIL called whispering that DH better get down there this afternoon.... grrrr. So he is headed out. He has to come back tonight so it's going to be a long day for him. 2.5 hours each way. He's trying to tie up loose ends at his old school etc. but they told SIL it's the weekend. He should be here. He's got steam coming out of his ears.
His mother left her church and won't discuss it with anyone so that's out. They do have friends in town who can help but their attitude is that it is DH's responsibility to be there. They told him yesterday they want him to install a suction cup grab bar in their shower for FIL. Well, no one has them in the store, only on line and they DON'T believe him! He told SIL he will take them to the Walmart website to prove it if he needs to. I spent a lot of time looking last night. He could get a screw in one but they don't want anything permanent. So they're going to have to wait a bit. They suggested he stop by the local medical pharmacy on his way out but they're closed on Sundays.
So I'm venting. We knew it would be like this, didn't we. Crappy timing.

Those suction cup grab bars are of limited use anyway.

I would go to Home depot and get the ones that bolt on to a stud - much more secure. Here is a hug for you guys :hugs looks like you need it.

Thanks FF. I would too but they are insistent that they do NOT want or need anything that will screw into the wall. They may change their minds when DH tells them what the pharmacy told about them being so dangerous they won't sell them, but I doubt it. He will have to sit down at their computer and show them where it says on the Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid and every other possible store that they don't carry them in store. Or at all.
It's going to be a long day.

Thanks, I'm trying to not be the selfish one. I'm upset in the sudden change in plans but I have to let it go. DH has to deal with this.
I am wishing I'd made it to the liquor store yesterday for a bottle of wine.... darn Blue Laws!

Do you think I have a problem if I'm looking up alcohol sales laws for Sundays in other states? Excuse the grammar; I'm too lazy to fix it!

Have a slug of vanilla extract in some of Donki's milk, honey, and don't worry about it. It is medicinal. :hugs

Why do you think I am on a liqueur and wine-making kick lately? :p

By the way, today we stopped at a beer and winemaking supply place in ....um....East Hartford, I think...or Hartford....it was right off the highway. It just changed ownership less than two months ago and was not opened and under construction, and the guy with the power saw outside saw us looking and insisted that we come in! We had a great time, picking our way through construction debris and talking to the new owner. The prices are half or less than what I've paid elsewhere for the same stuff!!!!! One owner does everything with sulfites and such, and the other, not there today, is a massage therapist like me and dh and does stuff without chemicals. I can't wait to go in and meet him. www.brew-wine.com site still under construction, they will be cataloging most stuff and putting it on the site over the next weeks/months.

It's gonna be a long haul. Start making your own booze now for winter libations! :D
