The milk truck just delivered to the house next door. :D It used to come here too. :gig
One week to go before DS goes back to school. DH and I go in for meetings on Monday. It was such a hot summer that I don't feel like I accomplished as much as I'd planned, but that is pretty typical I think.
It's been raining for two days and only in the 70s. I love it! I'm so ready for the seasons to change. I love autumn. I love autumn in New England.
Labor Day weekend brings our largest local fair. I hope that at least DS and I get to go. With a three day weekend DH should be able to both that and visit his folks.
Our cable box has died. The cable works every where else in the house except the living room so it must be the box. It's kind of nice..... still wish we could go TV free. DH won't do it though. Maybe someday.

I want to go TV free also, but alas, my hubby is the same as yours. He doesn't want to miss the football this fall. I actually love football also, but find myself sitting and watching other mindless things, when I could be getting something done.

That's the truly stupid part here. He rarely watches TV other than the nightly news. He is always getting stuff done.

Had fun geocaching yesterday, even though we are still terrible at it. I'm finding that it's just a little different from letterboxing. We tend to look for caches as if they're hidden like letterboxes but that hasn't been the case. There's one at our local Home Depot that we just can't find. We know within a few where it's supposed to be but just can't figure it out. We go back every few months to try again.

Wrench in the works for DH's plans tomorrow. He was going to go to school one last time to finish packing up, turn in his keys, then head to the new school with another load of his stuff with a former student. Then he was to go to yet another school to help a collegue with her class's hovercraft that they hope to fly in an event on Saturday. DH was supposed to fly there too but had to beg off... After helping her he is headed to his parents' to finish installing the shower grab bar. He'll stay the night, visit for a bit in the morning, then head home for our church picnic and some family time. He got an email from his new school district about setting up his email account. The last line was, "I look forward to meeting you at the new teacher Tech. training on Friday." Oops. No one told him about that. By the time he read the email it was too late to get details. He'll have to make some changes to his plans. It might be DS and I headed to the other school. The only reason he has to be there is to return some stuff that another friend left behind. The people who will be working on the craft will be seeing this guy on Saturday and can return his stuff. It's just occuring to me that DS and I can drop it off there for him if we have to. '

It's going to be a nutty couple of days. We're really hoping that the three of us can just hang out together Sunday before the insanity of the school year starts!

Ticked off a coworker friend today. I was in my mom's car and we passed her. She was crossing an intersection, driving, on her cell, with her 9 yo daughter in the front seat. I couldn't let it go. I sent her a message letting her know I'd seen it. Oh well. She's not working in the same school as me next year. I'll let you know if she disappears from my FB friends list.

I think it depends on her personality. If you did that to me I would be like "Yep! That was me! I was to busy talking on the phone and driving and I didn't see you or I would have waved hi!!"

Sheesh, that's all I need, to be responsible for her taking the one hand she had on the wheel off to wave!! She hasn't replied. What's wrong with a friendly reminder between two moms that she was breaking, not one but, two laws?? :duc I sent it knowing that she'd probably laugh it off but think about it twice before doing it again. But maybe not.

You did the right thing. If you lose her as a friend, she wasn't a friend in the first place. You go, girl! Loves me a gal with a spine! :p

I'm with Free, you did good. That's not cool at all. If she comes back with a retort, tell her next time you'll just give the cops her tag #. :D
If she gets nasty about it I will. As an employee of her daughter's school I think I have a legal responsibility to report anything neglectful or abusive.
