No, I can see that. I took a course at the community college a few years back. Some of the students, well, I'm not sure why they were there. Those of us of an advanced age took it all seriously but the younger ones made it quite clear that they were only there because the class was required. They also made it quite clear that those of us taking the class for fun were strange, alien beings...

Sounds VERY encouraging! I am so glad you moved him. He should have a great year! :)
Another good day. I met his new friend Justin after school when I picked DS up. Very nice, but silly boy. Sounds familiar!!

I have to threaten them with failure to get them to stop texting and checking facebook and whatever else they are doing with their phones during class. Basic manners, people! I used to worry about becoming an itchy-b. I don't worry anymore. I've arrived. :D

Have the same problem with my HS students. No respect. Electronics everywhere. The adults in our school have no control. Which is why DS will NOT go there.

So, Monday morning I get to find my first HS student of the year for speech services. She'll be in cafeteria study hall. She's a freshman, 14 years old and 8.5 months pregnant....... :(

I know. Same thing last year with another girl.... it's an epidemic in our town. The HS has an in house nursery. For babies of students. Because we need it to keep the girls in school.
