tell him Daisy is still under age. He could be arrested!
I think Dorian may be a bit younger than Daisy, so he already told me that that threat is not valid. Then he pee'd on me, danced around me, and bonked the fence just because.
oh, the little bugger would find a loop hole. Just like a buckling! (Can you tell I've been working in the high school all day. I literally heard a conversation under the stairwell outside my office that went something like this: "Dude (one girl to another) you don't want to be datin' him if he 17!!" Girl #2 "Why f***in' not?" "Cause he gonna be 18 you still be 14 and he be arrested an s**t. You wanna be datin' a 9th grader so you can be together for a long time"
At that point I shut my door.... I don't know if "Dude" ever got the point....

I think I saw her in the waiting room of my OB/Gyn, 9.5 months pregnant, talking to her "Dude" about how her mother is preggers, too. Me and another childless lady exchanging glances, trying not to roll our eyes lest the twit pull out a gun....

I hate overhearing conversations like that. You don't know whether to sigh and walk away or smack them upside the head. Or maybe their mothers...

Hope your knee feels better and you find a home for those ducks!

:/ Thanks. I guess it's not surprising that our HS has a nursery. For the students' babies....

i dont even know where to begin with this. but i blame gossip girl and mtv.

where are their mothers you ask? they are trying to be these girls friends.

my sis has two 19-year-olds-with-babies-and-no-baby-daddies...they act like its a game. they move out..then move back in...then come by for money... oh no they need a car... they get mad if there are rules (you have to come home every nite and take care of YOUR baby) and then leave.. but then come back.

honestly i cant even hear it anymore.

wow.

Yup, and you add in a cultural component in our town that seems to say you prove to your man how much you love him by having his baby. This is what my students themselves tell me.
We see 5 year olds in Kindergarten with questionable slogans embroidered across their backsides "sweet" :barnie There are so many levels of what is going wrong.... Our middle school instituted a uniform policy last year. It will eventually move into the elementary schools and the HS. Not soon enough, though it won't cure everything.
