Thanks Gina. I feel better already! I just need to put it out of my mind and move on.
I forgot another part of the picture. Student at DH's school attempted suicide over the weekend. Life support was disconnected this afternoon. Looks grim. DH didn't know this student but it is still difficult. I was dwelling on the what ifs too much this afternoon. You know, wanting to put my own DH in a bubble and protect him from every little bad thing that might ever happen to him, etc.
Also, watched Star Wars, episode 3 over the weekend. Hadn't ever seen it. So dark. I need to shake this darkness..... could the time change and shorter days be getting to me this badly already???
Not good.

In a word - yes. It is not too soon for SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) to kick in. The stress of the season, busyness of everyday life and shorter daylight hours add up quickly.
Hope things look up for you soon and you can get some rest and spend some quality fun time outside.

Hen try taking some Vitamin D3. I did that last year and am starting it again this winter. It really seemed to help perk me up AND I seemed to stay healthier as well!

So maybe the stuff really does work! ;)

If you feel tired and gloomy without it, it is time for a refill! :D

Done! Can't say I'm feeling a ton better yet.... stupid stuff again today. Years ago the priest in our church asked my husband to make a metal Advent wreath form and stand. He did it in the metal shop of his old school. It wasn't a tiny job to pull off last minute at a busy time of the school year, but he did it and we've been using it every Advent in the church since. 2 years ago the ring that the greens are tied to was thrown out with the greens but the current priest realized it and saved it. Last year the same thing happened and DH was the one who found it. He was furious! The priest smoothed things over, the ring was saved and got stored safely so we thought. Tonight I got a call from the woman who will take the ring to florist to have the greens put on for us. It needs to be in place for the first Sunday in Advent which happens before the end of the month, probably the last Sunday but I don't have the info. in front of me. Smart lady that she is, she decided to look for it sooner rather than later! Good thing. She can't find it. She had the priest come over and help her look. He can't find it. They think they looked in all the possible places but can't find it. DH was at rehearsal but I checked with him when he came home. He thinks it may be in one closet tucked way in back where they didn't think to look and now I think he may be right. I've been emailing the altar guild hoping someone else might have come across it recently. One lady got back to me and she had the same thought DH and I did. So hopefully that is the explanation. Thing is, everyone brushed off DH's feelings about finding it in the trash, not once, but twice. It took him several days to make this thing, on his own time, his donated materials. It was designed to be all but invisible, to show the wreath, not the stand itself. But still. Who would throw out a heavy metal ring rather than take the time to undo the greenery wired to it! Now DH feels like he MUST be present when the greens are taken down after Christmas to protect it from being thrown out a third and possible finel time. He no longer has access to a metal shop and will not be building a new one should this one get tossed.
Like I said, stupid stuff I should be able to let go of, but just can't.
Now, can I be happy about the fact that the BIG BOSS was at my school today and wandered into my room while I was working with a student and having a particularly positive session with her? Well, yeah, but I still dwell on the other stuff... Can I be thrilled with the fact that I brought a speech vocabulary test home to practice on my son and he scored in the 98%ile for his age? He is 8 and a half and his score correlated with that of a child 4 years older. Yeah, I can be happy with that. But still dwell on the other stuff. :duc

I understand your frustration. People are SO used to throw away, one time use garbage they don't even understand HOW to take care of something that is made to last.

I am glad that you got your vitamins. :) Hopefully you will start feeling more zippy in a few days.

They found it! Thank goodness. Once we all started thinking about it, a bunch of us who did an inventory in the sacristy remembered seeing it since last Christmas. We decided to move it and it got tucked into a dark closet at the front of the old part of the church. It was laying flat on the floor in there. So all is well. More of the silly little things have resolved themselves too but I'm running late so more later. :)

Good to hear you found the wreath ring. Is there any way it could be labeled. With maybe a big SAVE on it somewhere.

We had school conferences yesterday. Mixed reviews. My dd7yo is having some issues. uggg... Here we go again.

Vitamin B3 huh?? I think I will get some today.

Have a great day and hug the goaties for me.

Thanks, snuck on at school since my last two students were uncooperative about coming to see me. Ain't high school fun?
Just got DS's standardized test results. They weren't awful except in writing, but nothing surprising all things considered. I don't believe they mean diddly. He has never taken a long standardized test before and it's the kind of thin he hates doing. He bombed in writing which he hates but really isn't bad at when he gives it decent effort. He is in the 87 and 95 %ile for Social Studies and Science, which he has never been taught formerly before this year. But that's where his interests lie. So I'm not going to lose sleep over any of it. Math is average which is about right for him. I thought reading and vocab should have been higher. Whatever!
DH labeled the ring last year, but the greens cover it when they're on it. We don't exactly want a label to show either. We're going to make the announcement that it is reusable this year whether the priest likes it or not. He didn't want me to say anything last year and look what happened! I'm going to pretend I don't remember this time.
