Uck! When I went to pick up DS I was outside for all of 2 minutes and was soaked to the skin. Too windy for an umbrella. It would have been comical to watch all the parents with their umbrellas flipped inside out if it hadn't been so nasty. At least it was almost 60 degrees. Happy December!

Dunno, but it really was very close, if not actually, 60 degrees today. Personally I hate it but I try not to mind that we didn't use fuel oil or fire wood to keep warm.

But sadly it all melted and its a mess out.
Blech! I hate that about this time of year!
Especially when you track the house up with it.....
Oh yeah!! With 3 humans and 3 dogs, we could do the floors 4 tiems a day and they still wouldn't stay clean!

Surprising DS with a visit to Lego Kids Fest in Hartford this afternoon. First we have to pick our Cub Scout popcorn to start delivering. After Legos I'm considering going up to Old Sturbridge Village for member 25% off in the gift and book shop. The trick will be to buy only things for OTHER people..... :p
We have started our shopping for DS. In fact I'd say with exception of some stocking stuffers we've got 95% of it done! Good feeling.
Haven't a clue what to get DH yet. He'll give me some ideas soon. We'll keep it to a minumum for us since we just got the new sofa. We are planning a visit to Bennington Potters this month to add to our collection of dishes that we started last year. That's all I want anyway.
Our tree will go up next weekend. I think we'll go for a Blue Spruce this year. They are sturdier and pokier than the firs I love, but with the Golden that may help deter him from bugging the tree. There's no where to put it that he can be kept away. Last year DH had to build a fence to keep around it to keep him away. The tree fortress!! He'll pull anything off he can reach and chew it up, even if we just put non-breakable ornaments on it. It will also be tethered to the bookcase and curtain rod to keep it from getting knocked over. :hu The joys of Christmas decorating with pets!
This morning I got to sleep in a bit. But I was awakened to a strange sound that I couldn't quite figure out, kind of squeaky, a fairly loud. Couldn't tell exactly where it was coming from until I sat up in bed and realized it was outside. There must have been 1000 blackbirds in the trees around us! They fly around for about 10 minutes then took off. That woke all the animals up so I got up and finished the chores that DH hadn't started when he left to bring food for the reception after a funeral at church this morning.
Before we head out there is house cleaning and laundry to catch up on. I didn't get a lot done last week since I was feeling so rotten. Still not 100% but I'm getting there.
