That's right, because we haven't gotten nearly enough snow yet this winter!!! :barnie It started before 11 am. The forecast has changed every 10 minutes. I have no idea if we're getting 3 inches today and that's it or if there's a second round coming tonight and we'll end up with a foot. I've heard both of those and everything in between.
Getting home wasn't fun. We live on top of a windy hill. My car didn't want to make the last 5 yards of the steepest part of the hill. I was in 1st gear and praying, sliding sideways towards the snow banks, using every winter driving skill I have. I did it. Made it to the driveway in one piece. We're all home now, safe and sound. Still waiting to hear from my mom who insisted she had to go to the grocery store. I like have food stocked up that I didn't have to do that too.

I don't think I would ever be able to drive in weather like that. Does everyone drive lifted 4 x 4's? I would have to or never leave the house. Glad to hear you made it home ok. Stay safe.

No 4 wheel drive here. I drive an 17 year old Volvo. It does not do well in the snow. A lot of people do though. We're hoping to replace it with a used Subary wagon this spring.
We're in for the night. All meetings cancelled. I'm making a pot of soup and going to bed early.

Ok so let me ask you this. Is your Volvos battery hidden in the back? I just had to jump a little old lady's car for her. My dh googled it for me then told me how to do it over the phone.

Not common knowledge. Crazy Volvo's

Nope, right up front. DH had to use it to jump his 2003 Jetta when it was -12 the other morning. Mine is a 1994. Cracked me up!! His is a diesel though so crankier to start.

Glad you made it home safe Hen!

That is the thing with snowfall amounts are VERY hard to predict.

Most front wheel drives get around OK as long as you are not stupid about your driving. There are some days people just need to stay off of the roads.

Mostly Tanks you just take it easy, allow space between vehicles and tap the brakes instead of locking them up. YOU could do it easy. Lots of practice with sand and there is not much difference there.

Drifts can be a big problem for cars, however. Hubby had to take my 4x4 last night and tow my D1's Kia up her hilly driveway. She was stuck in a snow wallow at the base of the drive left by the snow plows.

Also ... :frow
Welcome home again Hen. I COULD be working today, but my arthritis won't let me. My luck as soon as I am well it will snow. :barnie
