And more MUD but now there is a tapped maple tree in my front yard and 1/2 gallon of sap already in my fridge.
We're probably going to have to have our dear old pet bunny euthanized tomorrow. Long story, but he hasn't been well and isn't getting better. :(
I suppose I should be glad all that snow missed us..... but I'm not.

Yikes. Blood test results are here. Lots and lots of numbers. I could say I'm not sitting here trying to intrepret them but I'd be lying. I don't see the naturopath until a week from today so no official diagnoses or anything. Almost all celiac related tests seem to be negative with the exception of one of the gliadin antibody tests. All glucose and insulin numbers are off. My best guess is pre-diabetes, insulin resistance, something in that area. Family history there!! Nothing surprising either. I'm scared and relieved at the same time that there's an angle to address all my issues. And this will force me to make permanent dietary changes.
I have a feeling life is about to get even more complicated around here.
Bunny is still with us. The vet is off today and I don't care for the covering vet. Ringo will see Dr. Steve tomorrow. :(
Okay, walking away from the computer before I drive myself crazy. I've got a sick kiddo coughing in the other room. I've loaded him up with homemade GF/DF chicken soup.
OH! So frustrating. I found a pizza place two towns away that makes GF pizza. BUT they use powdered milk in the crust. Oh well.... until we know if we're adding dairy back in he's out of luck on restaurant pizza. Homemade will have to do. I haven't tried yet. I did splurge on a GF/DF frozen pizza and he loved it.
I'll keep you posted. I sense a lot more journaling on my part.....

Saying a prayer for you Henrietta...that you won't worry yourself into a frenzy, and that life will get better for you with some dietary changes.

:) Thanks Morel. I'm trying to look at it as the wake up call I know I needed. There's some guilt involved in not taking care of myself. I do think I've found a good health care provider to help me through this AND I have all of you for support in addition to real life friends. I'm back on the computer to get ready for Cub Scouts and leaving the health issue alone.
However, I'm suddenly afraid to eat anything in my house.....

On the more positive side of things:
I went to the community garden meeting yesterday, my first time. They have some great ideas but are in a way over their heads. They want to plant heirloom varieties of things that we can't find in the stores or at farmers' markets, etc. without starting seeds. That one has me a little stumped. There's a lot of prep work to be done to get the garden area ready. I still haven't seen it. For a $20 fee I'm willing to join and do my part. There seems to be very little knowledge among the group in general. For instance, one person wants to plant a specific variety of asparagus and was surprised to learn she wouldn't be eating any of it this year. So while I'll join in I'm still going to attempt to start a few seeds of my own in my limited space in the basement. If I get extras to share with them I will. But I'm not in a position to offer to start whatever they want. Then one woman wanted to start an argument about planting peas on St. Patrick's Day. It's foolproof timing according to her. I made one little comment about the possibility of rotting seeds and got "a look" that told me I'd better sit down, shut up and not offered unsolicited advice. Can do. Let her plant her peas whether the conditions are right or not. If she succeeds, good for her. She's planted peas two years in a row after all....
A friend who knows about the old bunny just called me to say her friend who works at one of the local pounds has two young dwarf rabbits in need of rescue. Friendly, under a year old, not bonded so we wouldn't have to take both. Good with kids, used to barking dogs.... we're thinking about it. I hate that feeling of replacing a pet but this would be a rescue not going out and buying a new rabbit. Hmmmm

Me too and been there done that. The good news is that stuff is reversible. If you want, PM me any time. If you like to read, here are 2 good book recommendations....
